This weekend they are running the Halloween event as compensation for the extended downtime on Thursday. So, no sunrise until Monday.
Usually it's two day-night cycles per hour.

They've reactivated the Halloween event as an apology for the accidental server rollback during the last maintenance. So, at the moment, night will last until sometime on April 5th, which I *think* is when they're planning to turn the event back off.

Lol while the thread is here...does that mean I can collect halloween salvage too? I might see to hoarding a lot this time and e-mailing it all to my lowbie MM who's sitting at lvl 12 until she gets her carnie costume pieces/a loincloth...
You know what I'd have rather the devs gifted us for the long downtime? Powerset Proliferation >_> They need to hurry and finish that off

It also makes it easier to collect the banisher and slayer badges which are needed for blue-side accolades.

Leo_G, here's the long but effective way to make sure you can get what you want for your screenshot. This is how I (and a lot of other folks) get really specific shots, regardless of what's actually going on in the game at the time...

Go to where you'd want to take your screenshot, position it as if you were taking it, then type:
/demorecord LeoGScreenshot
Press Enter, count to 10, then type /demostop
Go to C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\client_demos, your file will be there. Open it with Notepad, and make the following changes:
First, where it says:
0 0 Time 0.000000 (or whatever time is there)
Change that to:
0 0 Time 11.000000
Next, do a search and replace so that everywhere you see:
SKYFILE SKY 0 2 1.000000
Replace it with
SKYFILE SKY 1 0 1.000000
Save the file.
Last but not least, open a command prompt. Type:
c:\Program Files\City of Heroes\cityofheroes -demoplay LeoGScreenshot -disable2d -demohidenames -demohidedamage -demohidechat -demofps 29.97 -demodump
This will, in your client_demos folder, create a series of screenshots for you. Pick the one you want to use, and voila, you're good to go.

When suggested to use demorecord, I was all like 'nah, too much work >_>'
But then since you posted those directions so nicely, I gave it a shot. Got up the the last part where I have to type in cmd prompt. The program starts up just like if you're starting up the game but then the crash report window pops up and ends there.
I think I only got demo record to work once (or only tried once) so not sure why it's doing this. 
Hmmm... sneaking suspicion I know what's wrong. Check your PMs.

I was trying to get a screenshot this morning so I could work on something but the spot in Atlas I choose would look better in the daytime. So I parked my character and started waiting for the daytime.
Alt+tab and read some threads on the forums, occasionally tabbing back so the character didn't time out and log. Catch up on my manga, watched the next episode of Naruto on the laptop...still night.
How long does night and day last in-game again?
