Chrome Down!
Weird. The only time I get that Oh Snap dialog is when i start a shutdown or reboot and then abort it.
It must have something to so with sockets closing or some other resource becoming unavailable.
What kind of firewall are you using? What OS, what router?
The fact that combofix (of all programs) corrected the error on someone else's installation is a disturbing sign. Combofix is mostly used to clean out rootkits and really pernicious malware.
It's entirely possible that your computer is infected with a program that doesn't want you to use Chrome (which is more secure than other browsers) and instead use IE (so that it can continue the infection process).
Issue resolved with a registry cleaner and another reboot.
Windows indexer is now broken and curse client needed a reinstall but so far so good.
This is not about CoH but my Google Chrome.
About a week ago my Chrome started showing "Aw Snap" on every page (including chrome://settings/browser) it could render. After trying several fixes from the chrome site on previous threads I uninstalled chrome rebooted and reinstalled. Everything worked so I copied my profile back over and went on my way. Today I started Chrome and was greeted with the same issue. Someone posted somewhere that combofix.exe corrected theirs so I did that today but to no avail.
I'm really stuck here (and don't want to tell MNP I broked my computer again).
