Thugs/Pain - Looking for advice
I'm working a Demon Pain with this build..
You can see the differences between the builds. I gave up healing for defense cap.
My concept is attempt to stay at range height with hover to benefit from Range cap, but I still have Smash and Lethal capped since it is the two common types of damage. I would then Provoke mobs onto me and then use Invoke Panic and Intimidate in an attempt to gain some soft control on the mobs.
I'm only at 46 in SOs so I can't tell you how effective it is yet.. I am also I would also go Cardiac for the endurance. If I could keep my defenses and bump up my heals it would be great.
I'm not too sharp on Pain and honestly I haven't seen many players on the MM forums or even corruptor forums discuss it much. I went there a while ago when thinking about this build and asked a few questions. Didn't get much of a solid response. So I could end up making this build and then just shelving the toon until I can think of something better or something in the game changes.
Hopefully this build can be of some help to you. Maybe even spawn a different build.

I have a thugz/pain too. I don't understand why you would go with mace mastery, exactly. I guess just to softcap defense?
Taking something with a resistance, like Soul Mastery, Mu Mastery, or Sharks would allow you to stack resistances with World of Pain. That's what I'm thinking I'll do. I'd try out the new Ancillary powers, but an AOE immobilize is just so nice for thugs, so they'll stay together a little better.
Oh mind giving your build Berzerker?
Well this thread hasn't gotten too much attention so I guess not many thugs/pain out there.
Anyways I used your build Galvanize for a base, and then tweaked it for my playstyle. I really wanted Soul mastery cause I find Soul Tentacles, and Oppressive Gloom very useful.
I also couldn't get myself to def cap without sacrificing too much... So I am trying a maxed resistance build to go along with World of Pain. No Hasten either, but with the recharge reduction from IO sets I don't think it's needed for me since Gang War is pretty much always up when I need it.
This character is my main which I use mostly for trials/task forces (heals, damage, alpha hits if needed, ect) though I find I can farm decently also if I am in need of influence.
Any opinions or tweaks would be appreciated!

I reworked my build since my last posting and picked up good Ole' Oppressive Gloom. That power is just that dam good.
I thought that getting provoke fear and terror from the presence pool would work out but it doesn't.
The best I can do with the build is 2x8 crey fire farm setting. Again I use that as my guide when posting since it really is a popular farm that players have done at least once to know what its about.
Sorry bad with incarnate names, but I think if I picked up the one incarnate that gives defenses for 120 seconds it will of course change the game play.

Here is my updated current build.
As I type this I started to think that World of Pain ( WoP ) being perma might be the best route. But as I went through the thought process I started to think that even though WoP increases your resistances. Your pets do not benefit from the set bonuses, so your pets will only be offered what WoP gives out.
You will gain some benefit but I do not think you can obtain perma WoP and get some decent resistance numbers from set bonuses in which you will be 50% resistant to all attacks per-say.
End result is something is gonna have to give. You just can't have the heals, the resistance numbers across the board and be perma WoP. The build just does not sustain the IOs needed for all of this.
Now I know its retarded to try to compare or complain that my DS Pain can't solo Crey Fire Farm on 4/8 setting so it sucks because my Robot Traps can. I think if you have any character that can solo 1/8 setting has accomplished something and would always be viable on any team. I mean that 1/8 setting is what a full standard team does or used to do before the slider came out.
Nonetheless I'm okay with the 2/8 setting.

Looking for some feedback on the current build im looking at using. Main thing i was looking at was to get GangWar as close to perma as poss (i can actually get perma by switching 1 power for another and changing 1 slot in GangWar) but i figured 4sec difference was ok.
Also looking for as much pet survivability as possible.
