So I get that currently a few of the heroes/villains are played by people who work for NCsoft, but I think it would be really cool to allow selected players to play as the signature heroes and villiains. It would be a very difficult for a player to be able to do this, however. And whenever that character was logged in, they should be able to play their signature hero as they would any of there old characters. Run around, battle, earn badges, etc. There would obviously be many restrictions to these characters however, because they would be representing NCsoft. And they would still have to participate in the TFs they are associated with. And whenever these players are logged off, they character would stand around as they usually would.

I realize this is a large work in progress, but I believe it could be a large succsess. Please leave comments with any ideas or suggestions, and hopefully we can get this thing started!

Thank you, EmmaGrace.

Sounds suspiciously like something from some other game which may have come out not long ago..

Putting that aside, I'm going have to disagree. The main aspect of the game which appeals to me and, I think, most others, is that it's our original characters who are the signature Heroes/Villains in *our* story (even if it's running on well run tracks). The only real uses I can see for this kind of system is repeatedly faceplanting as Statesman for a giggle and reaching the elusive 1500 badges as no doubt a long string of badges are tacked onto each character you can choose from.

Unless I've entirely misunderstood?

I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc

My emphasis added to show the exact reason this would never happen. To have someone represent your game/studio you would have to go into a rather intense interviewing process to make sure that you will actually represent them the way they want to be, and not some 13 year old who as soon as he gets ahold of Back Alley Brawler, doesn't go into Pocket D and start ERPing with him. Sure, it'll get taken away as quickly as the devs/GMs find out, but still...

And at that point you're then an employee of NCSoft, or Paragon Studios, and thus defeating the point of having players who are not staff member playing the signature characters.

Also like was already said, it's the characters YOU make that are important. The canon characters are just there to fill in when you're busy.
