Won't download, won't load the installer, help!

Okay. So I decided to uninstall the game and start fresh with the new downloader.. I have the file on my desktop but when I click it to install, the COH initial screen comes up that says "continue" then.. Nothing.. I have checked my .NET files and turned off my firewalls etc etc... Anyone out there having this issue? Do I have to install the game from my Main Account again or will it download from the new installer (should it ever work...) |
When you say 'the file on my desktop but when I click it to install' do you mean the new NCSoft Launcher?

Maybe they want people who play one of their games to play the others. While you may not want to see reminders of Aion and GuildWars, remember, Aion and GuildWar members are now being reminded of CoH, and it may bring more players.

Yes, I just uninstalled it thinking that maybe I was supposed to do that when the exe file was downloaded for the new loader.
Yes, the new NCSoft Launcher - will not execute.
Edit : When I double click on the new launcher icon, it seems that it tries to start - flickers on my desktop for a fraction of a second - but never quite makes it.

Are you sure you're launching the NCSoftLauncherSetup.exe file?
If you do that, you shouldn't be getting a CoH screen, you should be getting an NCSoftLauncher screen.
Or, did you already install it, and are now launching the Installer itself?

Coh NCLauncher Installer is what I'm trying to download. I clicked the link from the Launch page and it took me to the NCSoft Downloader for US and EU for PC option. I'm in Canada not EU so am not having that problem.

I used the CoH_Installer.exe that Zombie linked to and in the announcement on multiple machines and the install went smoothly. Mostly. I use ZoneAlarm and the Launcher and Copy_Launcher (it bootstraps itself so it alternates between the two) needed to be given the OK multiple times. However when it was all done everything was AOK.
Also all those machines already have all the various .NET packages installed and patched for quite a while now. I can see lacking that may be a problem for some.

I tried the .NET removal and reinstall for the 3rd time, and, the exe file downloaded, installed and tada - NCSoft Downloader is done!
