PvP Currencey
Siren's Call does that. You can get SOs and Inspirations for "Bounty" you collect while PvP'n/Hot Spots.
And I would love to see "Arena Points" but with how the game is set up, it just will count if you win or lost, and by how many, and how many kills you got. It would take a total PvP Overhaul for them to count target and kill assists, Ally Heal Percentage, Powers Clicked, etc.
And you know how many PvErs would farm the Arena if they did do this? It'll be the beginning of PvPIOs all over again :/
I don't think it's nice to talk about 'PvE-ers' like that, but I have to agree that there is little reward incentive to go to a PvP zone. Even with the PvP recipes, the only reliable way to get a certain one you want is in not-PvP. (by alignment merits)
As to get that one in PvP you need to a) have players around, b) defeat one, and c) get really lucky.
I think it could help PvP a lot if they'd also drop (with lower chance than for a player defeat of course) for NPC defeats and (with roughly the chance for a player defeat) for mission goals (hotspots, pillboxes, AVs) in PvP zones.
That could bring life to PvP zones, and is not 'PvE-farmable' because you do it in a zone where you are exposed to PvP, and competing against players from the other side that want to do the same. And thus PvP-ing. => Fun!
We should get currency for RP'ing. It's not as easy as it looks.
I was actually thinking the same thing, this idea's been around forever though. With reward merits/Alignment merits/Vanguard Merits/Shards and all the other mini items we collect to buy something of real value it only makes sense that PvP offer the exact same thing.
What should happen is keep the five minute timer, except every reputation point you earn for a kill you also earn a point towards buying Purples/PvP IO's. That might sound crazy to a lot of none pvp'rs but if we really look at risk vs reward in PvP, it's rather ridiculous in this game. Sure you could say healers/buffers won't get as many points but in PvE an IO'd SS/WP won't kill as fast as a fire/shield. Point being even with pvp fixes there will still be builds that are better than others when it comes to aspects like damage, that's just the way games work. Also as it stands the only people that seem to have good pvp IO's are intense farmers/marketeers or people who buy influence for real money. Sure a couple people get lucky every now and then but it's getting to the point where Purples/PvP's should be not as difficult to attain with the new incarnate system coming out.

Having a pvp currency actually does sound like a good idea. With the insane cost of PvP IOs this might be something the devs should consider. It might help to spur up PvP again in the zone and different servers....
Yes your heard me correct. Why not give us a currencey for pvping in arena and maybe zones. Put a special rewards person there in arenas so players can cash out. Honestly if you pvp the pvp IOs should be the easyest for you to obtain if you play it hard enough. Not like with the tip mish where it would take 2 weeks just to get one rare recipe.
Offer Arena poins at the end of every match o loser and winer. Winner gets a bonus if they win and % of all the below. Damage healing frienly target and kills assist ect. Stuff like this would be very helpfull. Its just a idea but if you like to pvp alot why not find a way to get us the pvp Recipe we want easyer then the other ways. The PvE communiy will complain that giving pvpers more recipes(for pvp) within pvp options would be unfair to them for doing it the boring way. My only thing to say to that is you can do it to if you dont wanna pvp for it then go somewhere with your dumb self cause you anit getning it!
