A Question of Defense
1) I have NO IDEA what you mean by this.
2) A shield brute should be able to softcap Ranged, Melee and AoE all at the same time fairly easily.

Pretty sure he means stacking Positional with Typed defense in which case, no it does not. The game picks whichever defense is highest and uses it to defend against an attack.

So I've been putting together an IO build for my DM/Shield Brute and I came across a few questions:
1) I've heard of double-dipping for defenses, does that actually work, if so, how does it work?
2) Assuming double-dipping doesn't exist/doesnt work how I think it does, whats the best defense to soft-cap for a brute: ranged, melee, or AoE?
