I was thinking today after reading the Zombie Survival Guide, the authority on all things zombie, and I had an idea. What is the most frightening thing about zombies? Its not their strength, and certainly not their speed, its their numbers. Zombies bite humans, the infected humans turn into zombies, and the cycle continues... resulting in a ton of zombies.

Now, I have little experience in the Necromancy powerset, but from what I've heard its not quite as good as the other MM sets, which allows some room for adjustment. I have no idea how this would be implemented, or even if it should be implemented, bit I thought I'd throw it to the masses and let them do with it what they deem fit. Which is likely to be devoured and discarded, like a zombie's meal of choice.

Ok, to the point. I thought it would be cool for an MM to gain zombies when an enemy is killed, to a max of about the size of gang war. These zombies would obviously have to be weaker than minions, for balance reasons. Underlings perhaps? Would this be implemented as a power? Not likely, since powers are probably never going to be replaced in a set. Could it be added as an effect to the pets final upgrade? I'm not sure.

the zombie set is not that weak, and the special power that set gets, soul extraction, isnt exactly bad either

the idea your showing though would be really neat, but i dont know how it would work if implemented.

i think the easiest way to implement something like this is just include a "confuse" effect on all the zombies brawl attacks, which would simulate infecting the opponent

of course that would have to be short duration and or low mag since they would stack it easy

MM zombies are the kind enchanted with evil magic, not the type that's typically contagious.


Issue 16 made me feel like this.

MM zombies are whatever the player wants them to be. (Y'know, the whole "pick an origin" thing.)

You could fudge/RP it if you really wanted by not summoning your zombies in a mission until you'd defeated at least 3 enemies and saying they'd animated in your service.

Necromancy as a MM set is pretty much middle of the pack, it works pretty well already and doesn't really need a buff. I suppose you could give zombies a "summon corpse" power which would summon an uncontrollable shambling corpse for flavour, but they don't really need it to be buffed to the same level as other MM primaries really,
