Synergy with Mu? (Fort.)

ok so I respecc'd into Mu mastery.


I have to say....I perform a LOT better offensively than I did before.

Although I need to respec again, because I slotted electric fences the way I had soul tentacles slotted, and I need to switch that slotting with static discharge.


The aoe of Ball lightning+static discharge is amazing, and with a Ragna in BL and a posi set with one Hamidon Acc+Damage in SD, most minions and leuts drop really fast.

Electric fences.....eh, I think I'll keep it two slotted, one with Accuracy and the other with a gravitational anchor chance to hold...just kind of as a mule, it's a simple power that's a bit situational and only really has a specific use.

But yes, ranting aside...I'm glad I switched over to Mu Mastery, I've been putting out hella damage.

Mu Lightning doesn't do nearly as much damage as Gloom. Gloom is a much better single target attack. The downside to Gloom is just that it does its damage over time, unlike Mu Lightning.

Ball Lightning and Dark Obliteration are not just as good as one another, Ball Lightning does more damage. Part of BLs damage is DoT, so that's worth bearing in mind.

For immobilizing stuff Fences is better than Tentacles, mainly because its not a cone. I'm not sure why you'd want Fences or Tentacles though, other than for a set mule.

Darkest Night is nice and doesn't have a comparable power in the Mu pool. That said, the Mu pool does have another AoE in it in Static Discharge.

I'd look at your build and see whether you want more AoE or more single target damage/utility. Gloom is a much better ST attack and Darkest Night is useful, but Mu does more AoE damage.

In terms of raw synergy, Soul synergizes better with Forts because of the -tohit whereas Forts don't have any other -rec or -end powers. That's a pretty minor concern though, since Forts can have stupidly high levels of defense. So as I said before, I'd decide based on whether you want more AoE or ST/utility.

because I play as a ranged fortunata.

I find value in being able to immobilize the entire mob so that I can kill them.

plus, when slotted, Soul tentacle's damage output is more than dark obliteration. :P


the problem is that my utility, defenses, and ST chain are already specc'd out and maxed.

AoE is the thing I'm lacking, right now I only really have dark oblit+ soul tentacles aside from my Wail...but that's not rechargeable fast enough to spam.

I was only curious to see because of electric fences, with soul tentacles being a cone it's harder to immobilize an entire mob..

hmm, such a hard decision.

okie. I formed my build with MU now, it actually allowed me to squeeze out 5% more global recharge, and allowed me to grab vengeance
