Rikti EBs

Death has become a pretty rare event after building up my Inv/ tank, if I may say so. Therefore, whenever I get defeated it really stands out. Two times in the last few weeks, I've gone down to the Rikti War Riders. I'm trying to figure out my counter measures besides chewing blues and greens furiously.

Def (typed) is capped, even Psi is close and I popped a purple. I should have checked my combat log but things were fast and furious. What happened was, my end bar got demolished, to about 1/4 and very quickly and steadily went down from there.

I'm guessing I was hit with Envenom and Weaken. Most certainly Weaken since Dull Pain took my HP from about 1/8 to 1/4. Those are just ranged attacks it appears, with no damage type, right?

So I need to chew enough purples to hit range soft-cap, is that the answer? What to do when I'm hit with it? Pray teammates wipe them out fast?

Death has a end Drain? O_o

Didn't know that...

For me I just pop a Breakfree to stop Famine from terroring me and pound away. Of course this doesn't help you much as im a Elec tanker... So my Blue bar doesn't go anywere unless I want it to.

I would say Eating the purple and hopping for the best is probley the way to go. Fact of life for basicly any Archtype that can be drained.

Make sure the team kills Famine first. Jump in, use an AoE, jump out and taunt the riders. I am pretty sure Famine's worst end drain is a PBAoE. If you have range attacks use them and taunt. You can likely jump back in once Famine is at half health, but it does put your end bar at some risk again.

Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.
Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.

Other than carrying blues, relying on teammate buffs, and killing Famine first, you can get extra end drain resistance for one hour from an empowerment station in your SG base. All it costs is a minute of your time and some common salvage.

Considering there is a base teleporter in RWZ, it should take just a few seconds if you have the salvage on you beforehand.

The end drain wasn't what killed me (though it didn't help me). It was the Poison debuffs, most especially Weaken, since DP + chewing all my greens did very very little to save my bacon.

Good ideas though, especially the bit about taunting from range to escape the pbaoe.

What about those powers you can purchase from the Vanguard vendor? Like Nectanebo's Curse Breaker, which counteracts "Curse of Wearines". I'm not sure what "Curse of Weariness" is exactly...

I run a DA tank, but I likely have the same defense values as your Inv tank. The envenom hurts the most, because that's what starts the cascade. Envenom allows me to be hit by everything else, so I start taking damage. Despite weaken, I can still usually heal to full with Dark Regen, but that doesn't really help when Famine has my recharge floored.

What I've found is to use an extra purple inspiration before jumping into the fight as well as activating Geas of the Kind Ones to counteract some of the -recharge (you could use this to ignore the endurance drain). That stops me from dying to the group of three EBs that includes Pestilence. With the group of four, I pop Eye of the Magus and don't worry about a damn thing. Anymore, I only take that kind of precaution on a Master of run; I have Soul Transfer on a reasonably short cooldown.

Curse of Weariness is a is a debuff the Vanguard bosses can hit you with (maybe the LTs too). It's a -50 max endurance debuff, and it's a gorram pain. Nothing resists it, and it lasts an ungodly long amount of time.
