1. Fine. Annoys many that it's type-based (Smashing, Energy, etc.) Defense rather than positional (Melee, Ranged, AoE).
2. Not a clue since I never saw it. I assume it just adds to your global recharge for 2 minutes when it goes off, same as any other proc...
3. Well, more Recharge means you attack more often and therefore generate more Fury, so it's probably a good thing.
4. Recharge, Recharge, and Recharge. Maybe a 4th slot for To-Hit Buff.
5. Squishy at first, almost godly later.

2. Basically you have a chance for 100% recharge for 5 seconds ever time you knockdown an enemy. This is an excellent proc to place in foot stomp. I think it can only proc once every 10 or 20 seconds though. I love it though and always slot it whenever I can.

5. /SR is annoying at low levels and it was difficult for me to keep my first /SR brute. I got a FM/SR TO 50 recently and he is godly. I am re-making him though since FM is boring. The /SR is the most survivable brute I have ever made. Make sure to take aid self eventually though!
If you make a /sr and solo a lot then I suggest running missions at -1/+4 or something like that. I had trouble at low levels even doing +0/+0 but when I did -1/+4 I did much better and the xp with more enemies was still very nice. Once I got to soft cap though I could easily do +1/+8 or higher with little problems.

but I have the FF chance to recharge proc on my Fortunata's Psionic tornado(one slotted....extra power YAY) and It works quite well....
I mean, it does only last for 5 seconds, but an extra 100% recharge for any ammount of time is good.
It's also a relatively cheap proc.

As always thanks guys. My brother and I made 2 brutes (based off of concept) that we plan to duo. I am trying SS/EA and he is doing Clw/SR. I think we should be okay even though our damage types are heavily resisted from what I hear. Eventually we will be fully IO'd so hopefully we can get some tankability in the late game for the higher TFs.

1. How is EA for Brutes?
2. The +Rch Proc, how exactly does that work?
3. I have a Shield/Elec brute that uses the Cardiac(end) Alpha which is great. My new brute will probably be /Fire or /EA so I do not think I will need it. How is Spiritual?
4. If I got SS and take Rage, what are good ways to slot it?
