Dusting off my Issue 2 MA/Inv Scrapper, need feedback on potential IO build:

The title pretty much says it all; I stopped playing CoX for close to 2 years so all my characters need touching up, and my scrapper is the oldest so she goes first. I think I've come up with a pretty good setup but I'd like to get some other people to look over it in case I managed to forget something simple (which happens to me way too often for comfort).

I'm happy with the power selections (have no intention of dropping anything for Hasten, for example) although the order in which they're chosen isn't necessarily set in stone. I'm also not really worried about losing set bonuses while exemplaring; I've done the lower-level content pre-IOs and I can do it again with vaniilla bonuses if necessary, I'm more worried about tweaking my top-tier potential.

Oh, and just for the record I don't actually use Hover or Kick, they're just mule powers/stepping stones to later ones in their pools.

It's got softcapped S/L defense, a decent amount of extra health and regeneration, although I would have liked to fit more recharge into it. I figure that if I end up going with this build I'll use a Spiritual enhancement in my Alpha Slot for the recharge bonus.

If you don't use Hover I'd swap it for CJ, gives a little extra defense, good midair maneuverability and costs basically nothing to run.

I haven't opened the build in Mids, but things that jump out to me looking at it here :
- The +3def PVP proc is probably better in Unstoppable, unless you use Unstoppable a lot. It's always active regardless of the power it's slotted in, and this way it saves you a slot. Additionally, I'd slot RPD with more resistance.
- I'd put a range in Warrior's Challenge rather than a damage proc. It's not a damage power, and adding a 1 in 5 chance to do 74 psi damage won't change that ; it can even make the power worse (you might wake up sleeping AVs while taunting them for example).
- I'd swap the sets in REM and Unyielding, Aegis being level 50 gives a little more %.

Unfortunately, I don't qualify for the vet perk that lets you choose a travel power without a prerequisite, and swapping Hover for CJ means I either need to swap Fly for SJ or drop another power for it. I prefer Fly for concept and ease-of-use reasons even if it isn't the most optimal choice here.

I did not know this, thanks!

Good suggestions, I'll give them a try. The taunt I rarely use anyway, it's more of a 'nice to have just in case I want to fool around' thing, range has always been okay on it but you're right that the proc probably wouldn't amount to much of a benefit.

I was grappling in MIDS a long time trying to find a MA/INV build with enough recharge to run SK-CS/CK-SK-CAK and be soft-caped to S/L/E/N ... couldn't do it.

Maybe you can if you are willing to just run S/L softcap.

I'm not sure I can come up with a build that softcaps all of S/L/E/N without making major sacrifices in other places!

Softcapped S/L and ~30% E/N/F/C (with 1 enemy in range of Invincibility - numbers go to ~54% and 40% with 10) still seems pretty darn tough to me though, no?

Heh, my bad. I'm a Ninja Run addict myself and I build without travel powers these days, so I completely forgot Hover is a prerequisite to Fly and assumed you just picked it for the LOTG.

I agree that softcapped S/L and about ~30% E/N/F/C is already sturdy (although I prefer 33% because then you can softcap with one luck inspiration). I run numbers similar to these on my DB/Inv and she's able to handle most content, with the occasional insp use and/or team buffs here and there.

An MA/INV build with those stats, enough recharge to run SK-CS-SK-CAK, and maybe even Aid Self is something I would be quite excited to see .....

Well, the build I settled on only has 42.5% global recharge so it can't quite squeeze out that attack chain... But it does have 44.8% defense across all types (S/L/F/C/E/N; 21.1% Psi), does that help a bit?

Ever since getting Ninja Run and soon Beast Run, I've never built with travel powers, unless for theme. That extra power pick is just too valuable for me.

I usually have the opposite problem - I end up slot-starved with extra power picks. Thus devoting 2 powers (and 0 slots) to a travel power is usually a trivial concession (and as you can see for my Scrapper, I took Assault on top of everything else). I've even taken Grant Invis/Invis/Recall Friend on support builds to pad the power picks (and conveniently stuff 2 LotGs into!)

I guess it depends on what attack chain you are using, and what pylon DPS you are getting

When I did use travel powers in the past, I never slotted any of them. Never ever. I wouldn't give up my power slots for them.

There was a point (pre-ED) when my solo travel power was 6-slotted Hover. It was very nice.

Nowadays I use Fly for travel, but then again it caps flight speed without any enhancement now. Hover with 1 flight speed enhancement (and a second flight speed in Swift) is plenty to get around in missions/buildings/caves with.

This is what I've been speccing my Flying MA/Inv into. May be worth a look-see for yourself.

Just shy of CAK>SK>CS>SK (.4 sec off on SK's recharge), overcome if Force Feedback proc's. 1 Foe gives 46.6% S/L, and 41% F/C/E/N (17.7% Psi). 10 brings it up to 57.1% and 51.5%. Still waiting on the market to sell me my KinCombat Tri's, and me earning enough Merits for that damn PvP 3%, but otherwise it's together and solid.
