Seriously, just leave your original issue and then link to the guide you found with an edit. There are probably several other who are in the same boat as you and are now still lost. Other's may see your issue and how you resolved it and decide they want to follow suit.
Editing your issue out and putting a dead end "solved" blurb is a general disservice.
