What Else to Skip in Kinetic Melee?

I'm planning a KM/Shield Scrapper. I'm skipping Confront and Repulsing Torrent. I'd like to drop one more thing from the Primary, so I can get deep enough into the Fire Ancillary for Fireball. I'm taking all of the Secondary and my heart's pretty set on the other pool choices I have in mind. (CJ/Flight/Hasten/Whatever-from-Fighting-that-will-not-be-on-my-bar-anyway/Tough/Weave) Yes I know I could do without travel and yes I know I could benefit from a heal, but I also know what I like

So, if you could either make a case for what else is skippable, or convince me I don't want Fireball as much as I think I do, I'd appreciate your time. Thanks!

I'd skip Quick Strike.

One of the best DPS strings is (maybe there's better and I don't know it)...

BB - SB - QS - BB - SB - CS - Repeat

Replacing QS with Focused Blast loses a bit of DPS, but is still great dps and allows you to keep the ranged attack (also it was easier on the RCH requirements).

That's what I would do anyways. And then you can keep Fireball for more AOE goodness.

That's interesting. What recharge % does that chain require?

You don't want fireball. You want ball lightning.

*takes the droids anyway, because hey, free droids!*

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Since it's a mixed bag so far I'll probably just play around with things through the levels and respec out of whichever I decide to axe in the 40s.

Something to be said, for having 2 Ranged blasts when running a LGTF.

Id keep Focused Strike...its a good attack and it looks cool. It's damage is respectable. Id skip either the t1 or the t2. Personally, I like Quick Strike for it's speed and the knockdown.

Honestly I don't see the need for 2 Ranged blasts for a Scrapper, even running a LGTF. I also run all Scrapper LGTF and still don't see the need for them.

I'll admit, I just don't like the attack at all it has a long cast time, 2 sec , and I just don't like the look of it. It was easy for me to skip and I haven't look back. I can't even think about skipping QS or BB I like them too much.

My KM has both Focused Strike and Laser Beam Eyes, and enough recharge that he can spam them if for some reason I decide to do so. Which has actually come up a couple of times, once vs Ghost Widow in STF, and on the Apex TF vs Battle Maiden. I ended up just hanging back and spamming FS, LBE, and Blackwand when it was up for extra oomph rather than running into melee. Look ma! I'm a blaster!

Maybe not on LGTF, but having multiple ranged attacks makes Apex a lot more fun.

And I'm with Brand. I just like having the option.
