Well... the ITF and LGTF. Are both commonly done with more merits per minute and more kills per minute... and they're level 50... It's not that the 3rd respec trial is bad. It would be better if it didn't have the long wait times in the reactor.

Wait times in the reactor core is what kills it. Not to mention the fact that you only get the respec or the merits, and the respec only once.
Go LGTF to get Vanguard merits, tons of kills, and a component.
Or ITF for the tons of boss kills which drop more shards, and a component.

Actually while the ITF and LGTF do offer more chances for shards and a bonus component upon completion the 3rd respec would not be a bad change of pace. As mentioned it offers the chance for shard drops, chance for Purple recipe drops, since there is no component gift at the end it awards 20 reward merits, it's against Rikti so there is the chance for Vangaurd Merits ... which can be used to but a Gr'ai matter Component and even with 30 minutes of boring time in the reactor it usually doesn't take more than 1 hour to complete. Since its open to anyone from 44-50 it adds on more level of players for recruiting purposes (and still has the chance for shards as long as the leader is a 50)
Obvioulsy if there was a LGTF, ITF, STF, KTF, etc available and I had the time i'd do one of those first but this could be a nice change of pace. I now have six of my 50 levels slotted with uncommons and I have done every 45-50 level SF/TF so many time the details are beginning to blur. LOL

I logged on last night and my friend asked me what I was planning to do, and I said I needed 4 shards to fill my alpha slot for my scrapper Tiffany. (So far I'd only gotten Mouse to Alpha status -- for Tiffany I'd run an ITF earlier and had 4 shards plus the component reward you get from doing that TF).
So I said I wanted to do anything that might get me shard drops. My friend said let's do an ITF!
By the time we got to Imperious I had two shard drops and was feeling pretty good, but my friend had 6! :O Then we beat down Imperious four times and lo and behold, I got 3 more shards! Happy day!
So now I'm definitely a convert to the idea that an ITF is good for drops. ^_^ 3 on my first run (last Saturday), 5 on last night's run!

Both give 40 merits + 2 shards reward.
There is the potential of additional shards and purple drops.
Each can be done under 30 minutes
ok with the potential of shards, purple drops, 20 merits and a respec all within an hour or so, I think the 3rd respec trial may be the perfect trial for the 50s toon looking for a leg up. Anyone think of another arc or TF that comes close?
