Lomyril's Peacebringer build (Dec 2010)

The last time I respec'd my Peacebringer, it was around February of 2009. I've been pretty happy with the character's build (since he's my main badge toon), only doing tweaks here and there over the years I've been playing him.

Without changing any powers or slots, about a year ago I started to add in IO sets. About time, right? Well, just today I respec'd my Peacebringer to take advantage of the Fitness pool (swift/hurdle/health/stamina) being inherent. I was able to save some slots from flight (since flight speed was changed) and put them into little things like Stamina (which now can be used in Nova and Dwarf forms).

Since I've respec'd him, I wanted to share the love I've put into this guy. If only a respec was easier for Peacebringers... so many powers... so many slots... *sigh*. For the record, it took me 40 minutes to respec him following Mid's build planner, and another 20 to reset his power trays. 8P

This isn't a perfect build (no purple sets for example), but it's good enough for me. Anyway, here's what I have. =)

In my opinion: You have one too many slots in group energy flight. And you have group energy flight as a power pick.

Unless you're using it to carry a proc or set IO bonus of some kind, group energy flight, like group fly, is entirely skippable.

I laughed right there.

If you really can't think of a power you want more, or you do a lot of Shadow Shard TFs with teammates who can't afford jetpacks, or you need yet another place you could put Blessing of the Zephyr KB protection or Winter's Gift slow resistance, then go ahead and get it.

If you're absolutely enamoured with Group Energy Flight and can't think of something to replace it with.. at least move it further back in the build. You're skipping some very useful powers early on to take a power that has very limited use. And just stick with the default slot; overslotting Group Energy Flight has an issue in that the people flying *with* you don't get the benefit of your +flight speed.

Lomyril, I put together a build real quick that I think you'll probably get better performance out of. I tried to keep most of your own power picks you chose in the build while also maximizing your slotting capabilities. It also is fairly close to the build I use for my own PB, Domiel.


First I think you had way to many slots in Light Form. Most of your attacks were better slotted in your forms so I can't see you spending a GREAT deal of time in Light form anyway. From an offensive and even defensive standpoint you're better off in Dwarf or Nova. As well, with one slot Light form will nearly cap all your resistances with just a single resistance IO. Add in Shining Shield and you have capped Smashing Lethal and Energy/Neg energy. All you really sacrifice is recharge time here and you can put those slots elsewhere.

Also, you had room for a great many beneficial sets and even more so once I re arranged slots so you could 5 slot everything that was really important. I'll let the build explain that part. Anyway I really think you'll see a noticeable difference with this build. Also keep in mind that with A merits you can pretty easily get the really expensive recipe's with a little bit of effort.

Moving it back in the build is certainly an option, but if I'm playing with folks at a lower level who don't have travel powers yet it can be useful where it's at.

The extra slot for Group Energy Flight and how it affects groups is something I didn't know. I'll have to figure out at some point what else I'd like to put that one slot into.

Thanks, I'll definitely have to look over what you've got. I'm still new to sets myself. I've been avoiding them like the plague since they first came out, but now I'm finally starting to get into them.

I added a few things myself over the course of the past few days to some of the nova and dwarf powers. Light form is also something I find useful often enough. Invis Other and Invisibility are useful early on for a certain Trial in the Hollows. =)


Again, it's hardly a perfect build and there's no purple sets, but here's what I'm currently happy with. Thanks go to Lordra the Good and some folks from the Justice United channel for their suggestions. =)

This is speaking as someone who had taken it on both a PB and a Defender back before the temp powers were as easily available. Group Flight is not a good power for any practical usage, but it is fun for goofing around with teammates. If you so insist on using it it's best to designate a teammate with the least flight speed bonuses as the one for the rest of the team to follow. That way they won't eventually get left behind and drop out of the air.
