freezing whenever I open the costume mini-window

On my laptop:
Vista 64bit/4gb ram/t8100 2.1x2/GeForce 9800M GTS/260.99 drivers

Whenever I open the costume window, either to change costume, or to edit one at a tailor, the game freezes & the screen goes black. I have never seen it "finish" crashing, or do anything beyond that and I wind up just killing the widow (yes, running in windowed mode, need to try in fullscreen now).

Also, when I quit the game (in any manner) the same thing happens about 85% of the time.

I have had this issue with every driver version at least since 260.63... only happens on my laptop (of course, my other machines are XP & 7, so it could be a Vista issue.....). No issues with other games, anything else, etc.

Anyone else seen this, have any ideas?

[edit: appears to only happen in windowed mode.]

Same for me... Also freezes when I try to go to graphic options. Freezes when I try to go to SG base as well.

I recently had some freezing when going into the graphics options, also, have an NVidia card like the OP. To fix, I uninstalled my drivers, ran driver sweeper, rebooted, reinstalled my graphics drivers. Hope this works for the both of you.

Hmm. I can do base & base editing just fine, and I can also change my graphic modes.

Are you running windowed or full screen? Did you try switching to the other way? You may be able to use TweakCOH if you can't change the settings in game (I haven't used it in ages, not sure if it still works).

That's nothing. The game freezes on me as soon as I log in! It's crazy. It happens 9 out of 10 times which means I havent been able to play much lately. And on that one occasion when it doesn''t freeze immeidately, it ends up doing it anyway around an hour or two in. "Sigh"

Someone please tell me that a patch is coming sometime soon.

@Lobster: Drat. Have you tried renaming the Pigg folder and having the updater redownload everything?

Thanks Samuraiko - it looks like the takeway from that thread (just read the whole thing) is: Do not use the 10.10 ATI drivers, and "maybe" really old NVidia drivers work better than the current ones?

I'm running 260.99 on all 3 of my systems (XP, 7HomePremium64 & VistaHomePremium64) and it's only the Vista one with the issue. I will try some driver rollbacks and soon as I have time.

Yes, this freezing is insane. On my villains, the opening the Contacts tab in Cap Au Diable is a guarenteed freeze. Opening the Broker tab in Grandville is a freeze. (Or, contacts if I've filled my Broker up.) Now, apparently, trying to edit my ID in Galaxy City on my hero is a freeze.

Borderline unplayable. I can have fix now?

EDIT: Took the time to roll back my driver to 197.45 or whatever. I'm running the Nvidia Geforce 6150SE 430 chip like some others, and this has apparently fixed my problem. Tested it red and blueside, no issues. I'll update if the freezing pops back up later.
