Budget Rad/Psi

So I have a Rad/Psi from way back and its pretty much next to unplayable under the new PvP rules. I do not have cash to throw at this build as of yet since I just dropped my entire bankroll into a Alpha Tank. I'm just not in the mood to farm or market right now either. Its the holidays I'd like to get my feet wet and just have some entertainment. Am I heading in the right direction with this build? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks


Note: I already have Cardiac alpha slot (is there a mid's that has alpha slotting?)

didn't look at the build that much but looked at the bonuses and you will definately need more kb or you will find yourself being knocked a lot. Aim for 41 at that number you will not be knocked by anything except maybe 6 slotted forcebolt with kinetic crashes and if you have very little cash, why oh why are you slotting a hecatomb in kick. Also I would go with leadership instead of the fighting pool.

I must have been tired. I meant to take the Heta out and just spaced (was checking the numbers with some purple sets added). I burned a /respec already and worked the build a little different. I spent a hour in the Arena last night and I'm pleased with how it plays now. It's not uber by any means but its a start. I can see where Purples and PvPIOs will slowly start to fit in, which will boost HP and recharge much more efficiently. The attack chain will benefit from the recharge. Right now its a jerky Dom/MB/WD/MB throwing in PL/Flurry where applicable. I could not afford the 3 LotG's and 2 BotZ's last night so currently those 5 slots are empty.

For whatever reason I'm assuming this is going to be for a team arena deal and from there you pretty much want EF on the target and either Snipe or fire off a few attacks (that wont' be doing much damage anyway w/o any procs) I usually go for Will Dom, TK, Dominate.

No purples or PvP Io's, but mag 41 KB, 50% Recharge, 1571 HP

Mr Liberty correct me if I'm wrong but from looking at the info in Mid's TK blast does horrible dmg now which is why I dropped it. Wouldn't Proc's be better in MB?

Again I'm not sure if you are trying to use it for duels or team arena setting, the one I suggested was more for teams where your largest contribution will be EF to back up 3-5 Blasters or maybe a Dom or stalker tossed in.

TK blast does indeed do less damage but it also roots much less. 1 Second animation powers are much more friendly to jump time vs 1.67 ones. You can also create a mini spike similar to psi blasters with Will Dom, TK, Dominate making it more difficult for emps to heal through.

Is this a PvP Build? It's..... wierd..... I wouldn't pvp with this. Just me though, everyone has opinions.

I'm interested in Arena Team and 1v1 fighting. In the occasional zone play I'm a capable target caller. As I said my previous build was from IDK i11 or something and focused on +dmg and +recharge. I can Pick up TK in place of Flurry. I agree root times are bad, I guess I'm just used to some of them. The last time I PvP'd regularly my debuffs provided me defense and I was accustomed to hitting like a sledgehammer with PBU + Total Focus.

It's pretty solid for team pvp with no purples or PvPIO's being used. I'm curious what you would PvP with as well. Post your build so I can see it. Pip Pip.

I don't think a Rad/Psi is that good of a dueling build anymore TBH. And one without damage procs is going to be miles behind other builds. What a Rad/Psi can be Viable doing is leading targets with EF and TK and tossing out a little damage in the meantime, but you'll definitely want a team to go with it. Like I said, the build I suggested is for 8 v 8's that you can hop into and not be a huge farm target. I.E. >1550 HP, Well Slotted Travel Power, 41+ KB protection, etc. Its far from the best Rad/Psi build but it *IS* dirt cheap.

In an 8 v 8 setting I just don't use lingering rad. Your goal is to be on target fast, call out TK's and have EF up just before any damage comes in.

I don't think I could really give you a viable, cheap no purples no PvP Io's Rad/Psi build that I'd use for *both* dueling and team arena settings. For now I'd pick which you enjoy more (setting wise) and go for that.

Keeping in mind that I'm awful at 1 v 1's here is a more dueling oriented build with 1520 HP, 41 KB and only 42.5% Rech.

Thanks MrLiberty, I took your build and just tweeked it slightly for myself. It has slightly less recharge and hitpoints. I sold off a spare purple I had hoarded and slotted the build completely. For less than a billion inf it seems to be a solid build I can use. I will eventually slot a 2nd build for serious 1v1's completely proc'd out.
