Characters don't appear

Hey friends, I have a problem...when I load the game everything works for me besides my characters appering.

While making my character I can't see the size or costume, and when in the game it's like I'm invisble though my powers will show.....whats going on lol

My guess is, it is caused by your graphic chip not being powerful enough (or the drivers not supporting it).
Have you tried starting the game in "safe mode"?
It is activated by a little check box before you log in, next to the "I agree" button. That will put your graphic settings to a minimum. If that works you can steadily try to increase the graphic settings.

You can also try to change your game client by adding " -usetexenvcombine", i.e. change it to:
"C:\Games\City Of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -usetexenvcombine
It will use a simpler rendering path.

I would say ancient driver. But being an older laptop you may not find a proper driver at AMD's site and HP likely gave up updating it years ago. Need someone who is more verse in modding desktop ATI drivers for laptops.

Also upgrading to Windows 7 may not have been a smart thing to do on such an old system, doesn't look like HP officially supports (more like doesn't bother) Windows 7 on that laptop.

The suggestion from panthera should help.

Hey, Thanks guys! I had a feeling it was because my computer is older than time itself...I'm getting a new one for school soon so I’ll just practice some patience! Thanks anyways! Btw would you know of any good mid range computers that are fantastic at MMORPG’s? I’m not sure what to get lol! Peace
