Need help with BS/Shield scrapper

I'm very new to using Mids, so I hope I've done it right. I want to try to get his defense and/or damage resistance up, but am not sure how or really if it needs to be much higher to begin with. Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

I don't do purples so I ain't even gonna touch this build. but what I am gonna do is give you my new beefed up build. it surpasses yours in HP, defense, recharge, and recovery, oh and acc, and to-hit.

Enjoy. It will give you slotting ideas anyways.

[edit] you have defenses that are way over slotted, then other defenses (tough weave) that are under slotted. you have some attacks that are under slotted and with the wrong type of IO's to give you the defense bonuses you want. Put a six slot set of mako bite, and get that 3% def to melee, ur dervish are okay, but put some Obliteration in there to give you ranged defense too. Did I see the steadfast unique for 3% global defense? My bs/sd used to be a flyer, so I had hover. respec out of it early cuz hover sucks, I went with cj/sj.

Like I said take a look at my build, it isn't soft capped, but very close, with one allie in range it is soft capped, or most mutation or mystic fortunes will cap her. or if you have the buff pet for defense that puts you damn close. + heal, and one with the shield as a OH sheet power will make you more viable.

Fury flechette made seraphima in issue 16 but past 3 issues sera has grown weak, so I took to mids, and made a over all better build than what fury pitched. Love ya flechette. Person taught me alot about bs/sd, you might want to pm that person for help. Very good builder.

I definitely think you need some help with that build, yeah. You're going to want to aim for 45% defense to all positions in order to maximize your survivability.

This is fury flechette's build. I respec out of conserve power, and put in focused acc. but that was basically all I changed. Still a very playable build even though I don't have it any more. However like I said, due to set bonus changes in IO's over the past 3 issues, she lost 3 hp/sec regen, lost about 3% def to melee, ranged, AoE, than what she was back in I16, she also lost some recovery... she was at 4.24 end/sec rec, but IO set changes made a noticeable impact on her performance. Still a great build. throwing it out there for ideas for you.

Thanks! I've downloaded both builds and am playing around with them. I obviously don't want to lose my purples, so am trying to figure out there to slot those while also taking advantage of the other bonuses in your builds.

Well my first build posted has hecatomb in disembowl. But other than that, no... I get on average about 12 hours of game play a week. Seraphima took me about a year to build on fury flechette's build. Once I had the base of the build. I was waiting on the LotG 7.5% rech IO's for quite a while.

So trying to purple something is kinda ludakris for me.

Argh, it does have a run in it, Titan Sentinel export screws up inherent stamina so I have to reslot that in Mids and I goofed.

I'll throw another build out there. This is what I would call a cheap one. I think I did the entire thing around 100mil. I am a little over the cap on ranged and melee so I can take one debuff without crazy cascading.

I'm baffled. I basically copies the Fury Flechette build in post # 4 with some very minor differences and my defense is around 35% while that one is 45%.

I uploaded that build and then tweaked it a lil bit. Tell me what you think. I am still confused on why you want hover. Unless for concept, it is just too slow to really make use of, unless you have a pocket kin with SB. See what you think. I raised your defense a few percent to each posistion.

I have a stone/stone/pyre tanker. Mastering the use of TP for travel/ movement past pebbles in the road was key.

It was rare for me to have a fall, unless I was messing around, while taking red damage in the hundreds then being instantly ported back into the air .

Well remove manuvers from the build then.

I was being facetious about falling. Mainly, I like it for the affect, and for being able to attack Hamidon in the LGTF for effectively.

No matter what I do, I can't reach 45%. The most I can manage is 35%. I copied Fury Flechette's build EXACTLY (minus the fact that fitness is now inherent and wasn't when he made that build, and I used the extra power slots that entailed for more powers) and I am stuck at 35%. I don't understand it.

Okay, I've been playing around with Mids, clicking the little green balls to turn powers on and off. When all of Fury Flechette's powers except Phalanx Fighting are on, s/he has a Melee defense of 31.3%, the same as Gentleman Gladiator. When I turn Phalanx Fighting on Fury, it jumps up to 45.4%, yet when it's turned on for GG it only jumps to 35%. Both toons are slotted identically in Phalanx Fighting, (LOTG: Defense, LOTG: Recharge Speed, and LOTG: Def/End) so I don't understand the difference.

Well your latest build with CJ on it shows 37% def to M/R/AE. Take 3 slots from stamina put a performance shifter proc, and two lvl 50 end mod IO's. Take those three slots put on in disembowl, and put full set of Touch of Death, or Mako's bite. Put one slot into hack, and put either the ToD or Mako their. Add another slot to Slice and put full set of Eradication, and that will give you 40% def to all positions. With your regen, and slight resistance, max HP, and your Damage modifier, should pull you through in most instances. Now remember you do have PARRY. Not only melee def, but it is lethal defense. which smashing and leathal is the most common. So you can soft cap to that def right out the box with parry. So if you get your lethal defense up over say your ranged or AE defense, those will attacks even with a secondary component, will be a mute point.
