Strange numbers from new mids.

ive made a build for my invul axe tank and below is the build.. i did the respect and slotted it just how this build is slotted.. but the numbers im getting ingame are way lower. in mids i have 48%s/l defence ingame in combat atts its only on 38% with all armours on..

whats right?

Sounds like Mid's has Invincibility set to 10, while when you're in just the combat attributes, you're obviously not getting the bonuses. I'd make sure that you turn down how many mobs Invinc is giving you Def bonuses for in Mids.

just checked its set to 1.. with 10 its over 60%

Yeah, just opened it up and saw that. Adding up all of your set bonuses and powers, I'm getting 40.515% Defense to S/L. Don't know what is going on here.

strange i just changed some sets ..on me armours .. cos of the whole no more than 5 of a kind thing and its gone down to 44??

Keep in mind that you have to have one enemy in melee to get the Defense bonus from Invincibility. This might be why the numbers in-game are different from those in Mid's.

Yeah, I chalcked that up to the difference between his 38 and my 40 (since Mids's base is one enemy in range of Invinc). But there's still 4-8% Defense unaccounted for.

i fugured it out. base is 38% with 1 enemy in range it goes to 48.4% . i dident take into account the 1 enemy.. sorry.. its workin as was supposed to.

There's no way that it should jump 10% from one enemy. It should just just over 1.5%. There's still a huge problem with that number.

Okay, yup, you're right. I was just looking at the number at the bottom of Invinc that Mids had. It was only showing 1.5% for one enemy in range. However, if you look at the effects tab, it'll show you what the actual value is. 5% base, plus 1% per enemy (the 5% only starts when an enemy is in range, though), gives you base 6% with one enemy in range. Slotted to 1.56% or so will bring that up to 9.36% increase. So there ya go.

That's a very common mistake, working out a build in Mids then jump in game, respec and bam, you're short of where you thought you should be. The reason for this is that Invincibility does nothing at all unless you have an enemy in range. Once an enemy is in range as your numbers show you get ~10% additional defense. I've made the same mistake myself, and also wondered why I was ~3% short once I DID get an enemy in range before realizing I didn't have CJ toggled on.

There are a couple of things I question about your build, first off I don't really like Numina's in Dull Pain; the unique only works for 2 minutes after you activate the power and it doesn't max out your recharge. I suggest moving the unique to Health where it'll be on full time, and I'd slot Doctored Wounds into Dull Pain. 5 slots of DW will max out either your heal or your recharge and provide a 5% global recharge boost.

For another I personally wouldn't put Taunt off that long but that's your choice. I understand why you're slotting LotG into Invincibility but I'd use 3 Cytoskeleton HO's instead to max out both the defense and tohit bonuses of the power. Not a game breaker, just a suggestion.

There's no really major problems with your build other than the Dull Pain slotting; I've no doubt it will get the job done. It IS a bit on the expensive side, but I presume from your OP that you've already bought and slotted everything.

Yeah I've slotted it already, but I can work on it , i had thought about the doc wounds in health but wanted the other bonuses from num set, ill see how it goes but can easy swap them hammis in later

The biggest issue with Numina's in Dull Pain is the unique isn't working all the time. It will work for 2 minutes after you hit DP then it'll shut off until you activate the power again. If you put the unique in Health it's always on.

If you want to see what your defensive numbers are in Mids without anyone in range, turn Invincibility off in Mids.

The reason behind this, if I'm recalling correctly, is because Invincibility gives a different bonus from the first enemy in range plus an additional boost to more. Mids isn't able to handle that in the data base for some reason, so with Invincibility turned on in Mids you're getting a partial "ghost" boost to your defense. Unslotted I think the "ghost" defense starts at 5%. So even setting Invincibility to 0 in range will still show a bonus. In game you won't see that.

I'd run across this a few versions ago and asked the Mids guy at the time if this was a bug and was told it's a limitation of the data base/program. I don't believe that that's changed. A quick glimpse at Mids shows that it's still working that way.

I have been getting wierd numbers from mids too. like damage on my bs/sd AAO= 81% (10 baddies) build up 80%, then proc for build up 80% = 241% yet in mids it shows my damage as over 392.8% Her damage bonuses are no higher than 14% so it is whcacked there.

Then on my ice/electric/pyre tanker, her new build shows her regen at 300/hp sec with hoarfrost on... In game se regens 43/hp sec with hoarfrost. I don't think I had hibernate on though. I will have to check it. but I definately think certain things off the new mids is bugged. I downloaded mine off of www.cohtitan.com

For scrappers Mids figures critical hits in average damage. You can turn this off in the options but that's why it shows more damage than you see in game.

On the tanker I think you're reading it wrong, 300 HP/second would regen from 1 - cap HP in a bit over 10 seconds. That's WAY over anything possible on a tank. Heck, that's over a regen scrapper's numbers with IH on.

Hibernate would give that though, as would rest.

Protector- I'll agree with what CMA said, plus if you have the Chance for Build up slotted Mids will add it's damage boost in.

hehe I just checked mids. and damn my hiber was on. gosh and I am the dummy. however I was ignorant to the crit option. see i18 version must have had that option turned off. I will look it over.
