Logging in problems? (I'm not a noob)

Since the log in to the game and the log in for the forums is the same you obviously have them right. Just to cover all the bases, you didn't have Caps Lock on when trying to log in to the game?
Is your account US or EU? And are you using the correct updater? The US Updater is CohUpdater.exe, the EU one adds an extra .EU in there, CohUpdater.eu.exe.

ah this is what i thought may have been the problem, but since i downloaded it from the playNC website i thought that the updater would cater for both EU and USA anyway, since there is only one website? (I am EU btw)
My updater is CoHUpdater.exe , but without having to download it all again is there another way? because i can't find another updater with EU in anywhere in my files, and thanks in advance
Go to the FTP site and download the CohUpdater.eu.exe and put it on your desktop. Start it up and point it at your CoH directory, that way you won't have to re-download everything. The US and EU client are the same, only the updater is different.

Done that, just downloading a quick patch, thank you for the help you were much quicker than the useless CoH support, i'll let you know if it lets me log in now.

Something similar will work for logging into test. Right click on the desktop icon and click "Properties" It should pop up with the destination of the shortcut. It should say "CoHUpdater.exe". If you edit it yourself and add the "eu" it should work just fine.
For test server or beta server access, you need to add -test or -beta after the CoHUpdater.exe. That works just fine, so this should work as well.
(You'll probably want to copy the whole thing to another icon on your desktop just in case. It SHOULD work, but if it doesn't you'll want a backup)

I have just decided to come back to the game for a month or so, i used to play regularly from like 2006-2008 and a bit of 2009 so i'm not a noob, but feel free to prove me wrong.
I can't log in to my account using the game client i downloaded from the plaync website? My friend who is trying to use a trial account can't log in either, we have both activated our accounts and made game accounts, yet we use the correct username and passwords but it says 'The account name or password you have entered is incorrect'.
Help would be much appreciated.
