Slotting on a Super Reflex Scrapper
I've not played a claws before so ignore all the offensive powers taken as I only took them to open the defensive powers. This is the way I softcapped my dark/sr. It leaves you 43 slots to spread between your attacks and the fitness pools, however it also needs 3 power pools to softcap with (jumping, leadership and fighting). Hopefully it will be of some help to you

There are several ways to slot a defense power.
Minimum slotting to get full defense and good regen is 2 slots:
HamiO: Enzyme Exposure x2
Note, this slotting can't be done in a passive as passives can't accept endurance IOs, which is what makes taht HamiO usable in a defense power.
Frequently I also use this 3 slot variation to get recharge bonus and regen bonus:
LoTG: +Recharge
LoTG: Defense
HamiO: Enzyme Exposure
If I can spare the slots an even better alternative is 4 slotted with LoTG to also get a hp bonus:
LoTG: +Recharge
LoTG: Defense
LoTG: Defense/Endurance
LoTG: Defense/Endurance/Recharge
For Maximum Recharge: 6-slot with 5 Red Fortunes with a LoTG: +Recharge
Or, if you need more ranged defense: 6-slot Red Fortunes.
And lastly... here is, in my opinion, the ultimate way to slot a defense power, 4 slotted:
LOTG: +Recharge
Shield Wall: Defense
Shield Wall: Defense/Endurance
Shield Wall: Defense/Endurance/Recharge
This gives you 7.5% recharge, 10% regen, and 2.25% Hitpoints. It's better then 4 slotting LoTGs because the HP bonus is higher. Hitpoints for an /SR makes you godly, so this really really can make a big differense if you do it 5 times in your build. The downside is it costs about 1B inf for each power. (Shield Wall: Defense sells for 500M - 750M). Shred Monkey (DB/SR) has 5 powers slotted with Shield Walls. And thanks to I19 and the medicine pool loaded with numina's he's now got 46% defense to all positions, 1931 hp and a heal... it's quite scary to be honest.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
What's your budget, Pinny?
In general, I'd recommend:
- Slot your defensive powers 3-4 - enough that you max out on defense.
- Take Fighting Pool, slot Tough with +3% IO, and 3-4 slot Weave for defense.
- Take Combat Jumping and slot 3-4 for defense.
- Take a +to hit buff power like Tactics or Focused Accuracy and fully slot 6 with Gaussian's.
That will cap your defense to all positions. If you don't want to spend the cash on Gaussian's you could always take Maneuvers instead.
Shred Monkey's comments on how to slot with LOTG are excellent, I recommend them.
I don't have Hasten on my Claws Brute, but I also have 95% Global recharge, so I didn't take it. It can be helpful for getting Spin and Follow Up back more quickly.
You should be out there solo'ing AVs in no time.
Since the thread doesnt specifically state, I'll ask this Q here. Any advise for alpha slot for DM/SR. Initially, I thought of cardiac because of the buffs one can get from the radial branch (seem to go well with DM). I also thought about spirit for extra healing and rech is never bad, but I already have 192.5%. I also considered Nerve to possibly save on slotting and or a power like CJ. Cardiac, no real need for it. I'm soft-capped to all, perma- soul drain, and end is no prob: 3 per. shifter procs, all end giving uniques, and dark cosumption, and conserve power.
Any opinions?

My current plans are to get the LotG +Recharge IOs through either reward merits or alignment merits, since I don't have the money needed to buy the recipes/salvage. On the subject of the +Rech IO; why not slot it in the SR passives? It seems much easier and hassle free. My original plans were 3 +rech IOs in the passives, and one in combat jumping, which would give me about 30% global recharge. total cost would be 8 alignment merits, or 16 days of tip farming. Maybe less if I throw in some TFs and pick merit rewards instead of incarnate salvage.
In this build I don't have the medicine pool, nor do I have tough/weave. I do however have maneuvers 4 slotted with 1end 3def (Could probably change that to sets later) and tactics 6 slotted with the gaussian's set, which costed a pretty penny thanks to inflated salvage prices.
I'm sitting at 42% ranged defense, and 37.7% melee/AoE defense. If I get a set of Touch of Death for my melee attacks that should bring me up to 40% melee defense. Aside from that, however, it seems like that's my limit unless I respec into a more "optimal" build designed for soft capping defense.
@Kratics: Since endurance isn't a problem for you, you're soft capped and are basically invulnerable to everything, grab Musculature for extra damage since you don't need the endurance from cardiac or the defense buff from nerve.

Well, I'm not using red fortunes, actually. My toggles are 4 slotted with 1end/3defense. I had them 6 slotted with red fortune before, but all that did was supercharge my ranged defense while leaving my melee/AoE in the dust. The only hints I have of it are in elude, where I have 4 LotG and 2 Red fortune.
If I get rid of the regular IOs in my toggles that'll cause my defense to drop unless it gets offsetted by a set bonus, but I don't think that'll happen, so I'll stick with normal IOs in my toggles for now.
I'd have to look for something to drop in my build if I want to pick up tough/weave. Pinny is based on a certain concept, after all, and isn't built to have the most defense ever. She did really well with just 27% defenses before, but now she should be even more insane with 40%.
We'll see how it goes. I don't think I'll be getting the shield wall sets any time soon, anyway.

So now that everybody is respeccing like crazy, I thought now would be a good time as any to ask about Tough and Weave.
My main, Pinny, is a Claws/SR scrapper. Her defenses have always been low...<30% melee and AoE, so I decided it would probably be a good idea to pick up tough/weave. I've heard about how you can get a +3% defense IO that you can put in tough, so I think I can leave that with it's default slot, but with weave...it's only 3.6%ish defense, but 3 slotting it for defense would boost it to around 5.5-6%, wouldn't it?
Actually, on that note what would be the best way to slot super reflex as a whole? I've been 6 slotting all my toggles and threw a ton of Red Fortunes in there, but that didn't work out very well: I lost out on melee and AoE defense. The +recharge you get from it I can replace by saving up enough alignment merits and getting the LotG +recharge IOs for my passives, anyway.
Do I need my toggles 6 slotted, or can I get away with 4 slotting them with 1 end 3 defense?
Just want to figure this all out before I end up respeccing again. I don't have a build sheet out, but I'm a typical /SR build: Every power taken. Picking up tough/weave, and maybe hasten. On that note, do I even need hasten as claws?
Thanks for your time.
