Help me squeeze out the last few drops of defense!

Doomguide

So despite the couple of other Elec/Shield topics I decided to create a new one for mine because none of the others seem to be looking for an I19 respec build.

The build I'm currently trying to improve is soft capped against Melee and AoE and just shy of the Ranged soft cap, but because I'm a bit OCD about stuff like that I want it soft capped, too. I'd like to get those last drops of Ranged Def without hurting my Regen, maxHP or Rech bonuses much. I also want to keep Aid Self in there, but with a good argument you can most probably convince me to drop it in favour of something else.

Here's the build:

I'd move one slot out of Aid Self (probably dropping the Interrupt IO) and into Combat Jumping. A single defense IO in CJ will put you just over 45%. I'd also likely go with Numina's Heal, Heal/Rech, and Heal/Endred dropping the Golgi for a bit more +max health. With any luck plus inspires at the cap you shouldn't need to ED cap (or worry over much about) Endred, Recharge or worry about Interrupt times in Aid Self.

With moving some slots around from Tough and Aid Self and taking the time to save merits for a Gladiator unique, you could eventually put 2 more slots in Battle Agility for 3 cytos and one more mito in active def. you could run capped to all positions and capped DDR. Active Defense would need to be stacked x2, tho and with sufficient lvl HO's (possibly requireing >50's). My fire/shield is does this, but at the sacrifice of regen and and hp. Cant wait for Spiritual Core Paragon.

Why are you slotting up Mubolts and not taking Chain induction a better attack i trade that off over one with the shield

I use Mu Bolts instead of Chain Induction because with MB I can run a gapless single target chain and get better single target DPS than with Chain Induction and a gap. I really don't want to make the already anemic ST DPS any worse. Besides, I have to take Mu Bolts anyways.

Makes sense I will look it over some more on the slotting I am still playing with it at work so a little hard right now. I trying to squeeze your defense for you

You might look at using Eradication instead of Scirocco's Dervish. It will need a slot from somewhere else to get six slots, but it will make your PBAoE recharge more quickly, and you've already got a ton a of accuracy.

Thanks for reminding me about Eradication. Didn't remember it had that 3.13% AoE as 6th bonus. Build is now soft capped with no real sacrifices, woop!
