Heyas Victory.

Thanks for everyone coming out to the Ship Raid Sunday night. It was not our smoothest run, but it ended well. From the start I had a hard time calling out the Pylons due to the fact that I was recruiting for the last team and give them instructions while at the same time leading the raid. I was willing to take the stragglers just coming into the zone because I didn’t need the badge for planting the bombs or defeating the GM.
The merits are a nice bonus, but I don’t really need them either. So, sorry for the confusion on the Pylons.

After we boarded the ship and planted the first set of bombs, we rushed the center of the bowl and took down the GM. After the GM was down, we nearly suffered a raid wipe. But ppl quickly got up and got back to the ship and while we were waiting for the 30 min timer to expire, the whole raid stabilized and went smoothly. Most teams were able to get a second plant before the shields restored.

I want to thank everyone who turns out for these raids and for everyone co-operating so well to get the job done and benefit everyone who takes part.

I have in the past seen some questionable behavior on the raids before. Players showing up with very low lvl characters, players laying dead for several mins, players pulling the GM here and there, and players herding too large amount of Rikti into the bowl causing raid wipes. No one can control other players, so there is little that can be done. We can simply ask ppl to do the right thing for everyone and hope they go along.

The ONE single action that we should have ZERO tolerance for is a single player, waiting on the sidelines for a team to clear an assigned grate, to swoop down and steal a easy bomb plant for themselves. This happens from time to time, but it was so blatant this past Sunday night, I felt compiled to mention it here.

Few notes:

I was running team 6, we only had 5 members on the team, we could have picked this person up, they could have helped us clear and still received credit for the bomb plant. Stealing a plant was not even necessary.
My team and the team which had the plant taken from them got together and cleared another grate on the other side of the ship. I’m not sure if we got it done in time for them to get credit.

In the future, plz, get on a team, run the raid with the rest of us, get your credit straight up. Don’t rely on these tactics. We do our best to make sure everyone gets a fair shot.

Thanks again Victory!

Cya next week!

Not even sure why you would want to swoop in for a bomb plant like that, anyway. You get drops and merits for being on a team, and it makes no sense to avoid those (especially with the Alpha slot info that just came out). You probably could have reported them if you wanted, as that's pretty ridiculous.

I thought that the raid went smoothly overall, but I was also not leading a team, either.

Thanks for running it, 3D! As always, your events are a kick in the pants.

It would be really nice if, in future raids, you could give more warning before attacking the GM. Most of my team was running back from the hospital and we didn't get credit.

Other than that (and the lag), it did go very smoothly. I think I pulled in around 400 Vanguard Merits, even with the hospital trips. I look forward to attending the next one.

I know this player fairly well. He did not do this intentionally--he got on a PUG that wasn't part of the scheduled raid, and didn't realize that there was any order to things. He's not really a badger or anything, he just saw an open vent and tagged it, thinking he was helping the raid as a whole.

It's been explained to him what he did wrong, and I did invite him to come back and join official raid teams in the future. Please don't be too bitter towards him, it was just a misunderstanding and a stupid mistake.

Yeah, their leader PMed me that they got it in time. I'd say "no harm, no foul," but I'm not the one who was slighted.

We always dogpile the GM asap, the reason i do this is because we have had issues with a team being very fast with the grate/bomb and pulling the GM out of the bowl. This just creates bedlam, many many deaths, and wasted time. Im open to suggestion on how to do this smoother.

If this is true, did he notice the 6 or so ppl shouting in broadcast HIS name, asking him to stop? Did he not see the 8 other players in/on/around the bomb trying to click it?
I hope this doesnt happen again.

I don't know for sure, but it's likely he didn't have broadcast chat open (which would be why he didn't know that it was an organized raid).

I'll agree with you on that. It better not.

I'd Like to thank both Chad and 3D's team for the assistance on getting team 1s second bomb plant. To me it wasn't a huge deal, and had it been a newbie or someone i had never heard of before I wouldn't have even said a word about it (for they are new and know not the rules) but ive know of the individual in question for a few years now and have teamed with him in the past, and know he knows better than to steal bombs.

He can say all he wants that he didn't know and that he had no intention to mess up anyone, but I don't believe it for a second.

Again this isn't a huge deal, due to the fact that even at one plant per raid, you would still get the bomb badge in the amount of time it takes you to get GM badge, so missing one plant isn't gonna kill us, it is just the senority of the character the really gets me.

Hope the next one goes smoother, and thanks again for leading us to success 3D!

Eh, if I didn't know it was a 3D raid or something, grabbing a bomb randomly seems to be the way these usually work. I like the organized approach and it's much better, but do keep in mind getting a bomb used to be a free for all. *sighs* I used to have issues with people not even announcing they had planted in a bomb, causing a mass wipe of people too near the grate.

And depending on lag, people can miss out on things in chat, etc. I know I have. Even if he did know, it's not really worth getting upset about. Earlier, I thought he was just a random player not even on a team.

I don't normally spend a lot of time in the forums and a friend of mine mentioned that my recent experience in this past Sunday's ship raid generated some comment so I wanted to clear up the misunderstanding on my part.

I confess: It was me.

I was running rogue when one of my SG mates mentioned that there was a ship raid underway and was looking for anyone that wanted to join a team - and I was happy to participate, since I haven't done a ship raid in a couple of years. RWZ was full by the time I got there so I didn't get into the zone until the shields went down and ended up on a pick up group, which was fine - I was just happy to finally get in and slog it out with the Rikti.

When the call went out to head for the grates I went with the rest of my team to the nearest one, set the bomb and rejoined the slugfest. I didn't catch anything in my chat window about assignments, there was a lot going by and I could have missed it. I knew something was up when all the angry tells came in about stealing (poaching, ripping off, etc...) my/a bomb. I asked my team leader if there were assigned grates and he said no, don't worry about it. I responded to the tells as best I could, explaining my error and apologizing. Some refused to accept my response. It was honest and for any replies I missed, I'll say it again: “I apologize for getting in the way of the organized event, it was unintentional and I was not there to poach. I'll be much more careful when joining a zone event in the future, finding out if there are any ground rules before diving into the fray.”

Special thanks to Evil Gulzow-Man for helping smooth over my bungling of the organized event by giving up your team's grate - Are you sure you're not really a Hero?

Side comment: There's generally far more grates then there are teams. Just... Just go on to another grate if yours is "stolen."

Thank you for taking the time to post. Very well put. Glad it was just a mistake.
I'll be running another Raid Sunday Nite, hope to see you there
