Well, I've been getting that error that I put in the title, basically since CoH's last update (Well actually idk if it was the LAST update, I think it was though)... It's really bugging me because I can't play CoH Mac-side currently.

And before you say, "Duh, some other program has that .pigg file open! Easy fix.", there are no other programs that can be running, and it'll say this.

Anyone willing to try and take a shot at it? I'm guessing that the issue is theres a program running in the background using it, but idk what it could be! D:

okay. I'll be honest. I have no clue what's going on.

What I would like to know is where is this error occuring? Is it possible for you to take a screenshot of the error as it occurs?

If the error is occuring on the patcher / updater, you might be able to get around it by manually deleting the pigg file in question, and replacing it with an updated pigg file from what sounds like an existing working installation on Windows (or Linux).

First, reboot to make sure wine or cider isn't still running.

Right-click the City of Heroes application and then double-click Contents, then Resources, then transgaming, and then drive_c. Open the "coh" folder too.

Drag "updater.lock" and "coh.checksum" to the trash. Then launch the updater again.

That should fix it. If you still have problems, post again.

And yeah, sorry je_saist. It was in the patcher where I got the error, forgot to mention that. ^^'

I apologize for bumping this topic, but it'd be silly just to create a new one.

I'm having the same issue over again, when I go to patch CoH for i19, I get the same message. I've tried CuppaManga's trick more than once, and it hasnt worked

Am I just out of luck this time?

Also, are you using the latest build? (select the City of Heroes application and then use the Get Info command in the Finder) If you're not using version 1.0.4462 it's an older version, and you should download the newer one from your NCSoft account page.
