We're you interested in a critique or was there a specific concern?

Also, always a good idea to post both the full build and the data chunk. Easier to verify things loaded properly into each posters Mid's. On my end, there are some odd slotting, which I presume are some sort of translation error.

Things I see right off the bat. You have WAY too much melee defense. And then you deside to get some typed def too. Dark regen wants more endurance reduction and Death Shroud needs some enhancement love (Acc and End red). Don't even bother taking Energy Torrent if you don't slot it. Obsidian Shield wants some end red . And BOY HOWDY Maneuvers needs it.

Because of Parry, your melee defense is... not even needed. Get Ranged Def and AoE def.



Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

I would have some concern with the end usage/end recovery on the build. Since IO's make it easier to get positional defenses higher than typed you could drop down some melee defense to get AOE and ranged higher.

But that being said, aside from the end issue, this build probably would survive a RWZ challenge. However there is some room for improvement.

IMHO, this is no longer true. In many instances, I feel it's better to pursue typed defense over positional. For Dark Armor, I find stacking S/L/E/Ne to be as effective as M/R/AoE.

However, it is far easier to soft cap all the positional than all of the typed. Builds that are not "final" may have more benefit from typed over position at some points.

To me that is part of the fun of the BS/DA combo over others. It is not "easy" to build the build in comparison to elec/shield for that matter.

Soft capping to all types isn't necessary. Ignoring that soft capping isn't necessary for Dark Armor, it's easier to obtain S/L/E/Ne defense values than M/R/AoE. Final builds of either variation will be equally as strong.

So i totally remade my build and this time i focused on end and rech. I pretty much cut out def because DA has no def debuff prot, but i kept a small amount and with parry it gives meele a good boost.
The build is PvE and for i19, slots for health and stamina are in brawl.
I think ths build will be alot more effective.
