But, I do believe that if anyone could have pulled off LotR back in the 60s, it was Kubrick.
Now, for the casting call...
Steve McQueen as Aragorn?
Ann Margaret as Eowyn?
James Garner as Boromir?
Christopher Lee as Elrond? Nah, we'll still let him rock Saruman.
I submit that it could have been awesome.
