Grav/Earth
i see no reason why it wouldn't work. it won't be the easiest to play, as /earth is melee centric, but if you want to be locked in long animation time ranged attacks between hurl boulder and propel that works too. gravity's immobilizes don't grant knock* protection so lift and the earth melee attacks can still be effective control (the holds DO provide knock* protection though).
the biggest issue i see is that gravity's always up AoE will be hard to use, although teleporting half the mob away could allow you to mop up the rest, or provide time for healing. it could be fun to play though. i personally like the synergy of grav/elec and elec/earth more though.

Grav/Earth, is actually a very good soloer. I have one at 38. You are combining a strong ST Hold set, with a strong ST melee set.
Also, you can stack holds between your pet, your ST hold, power boost, and Seismic Smash. You'll be holding bosses and slowing down some EB/AV's.
I'm sure others have thoughts as well. Overall Grav/Earth is a surprisingly solid combo.

Thanks for the advice, guys.
I started up one and having fun with it.
One more question... I tend to play for the fun of it and enjoy concept builds. Never was a minmaxer or ultimate build player. However, how badly am I gimping this toon if for concept reasons... if I don't use the mallets?
Thanks in advance.

Both mallets give a lot of your main damage. If you skip them you may find yourself hating the toon. I can't imagine my Earth/Earth without both hammer times.
My guides:Dark Melee/Dark Armor/Soul Mastery, Illusion Control/Kinetics/Primal Forces Mastery, Electric Armor
"Dark Armor is a complete waste as a tanking set."
Yeah. Unfortunately, those mallets are going to be a lot of your damage output. Otherwise, you're going to have to rely on Propel, which animates slower than both mallets put together and does quite a bit less damage.
Here's hoping the new alternate-animation push gives us mallet-free animations at some point. For that matter, mallet-based Stone Spikes and Tremor would be kinda cool - hit the ground with the hammer, and stuff happens.

Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
I been away for about 8 months. Jumped back in and having fun on my new Dual Pistols/ Trick Arrow Corr. But the altitis is hitting me.
So, a bad idea or can it work? I know there are no "Unplayable" toons. And if I have fun with it go for it. But can this be a viable build? Haven't seen any guides or such. (my search fu is horrible)
I just have this crazy vision of hurling boulders and loveseats at resistance members!!
