HELP: Extract Custom Villains from Published Arcs after PC Rebuild?

I recently upgraded my entire system to a nice modern spec. So needless to say a new hard drive etc means all my local arcs are wiped. I only have the published arcs on the server.

My question is some of my arcs contain custom mobs - I want to save a local copy of those mobs so I can tweak them accordingly and possibly include them in new custom groups. The problem is they only exist on the server now how do I retrieve them from there back to my hard drive? as under my creations they no longer exist although I can still combat them in the actual published arcs.

Do I have to unpublish and republish or is there another way of doing this?

Thanks in advance.

I had this problem. I had a custom group I made in an arc, formatted my computer and i assumed that next time I edited the arc it would download the custom group data. In fact it wiped it - it had nothing to refer from (no files to tell it what powers or costumes etc) so it wiped it and all there was left was enemy names... that's it.

I had to manually recreate my entire enemy group. Ever since I've been sure to manually copy the custom enemy folder every time I do anything.

If your old PC isn't completely disabled then you could use a router and set up a home network to get at that drive. But I imagine if that PC was working you'd already copied the stuff onto a DVD or emailed them to yourself.

Otherwise there's always Laplink. You have to buy the cord and software which is cheaper than buying a router.

But once again the PC you're copying from has to be in running condition.

Thanks for reminding me though. Been meaning to back up my ARCS for a while now. I get lazy with this Alienware recovery. Outside of a harddrive failure it preserves all my old stuff and resets to factory settings.
