Mind/Earth?

I took a quick glance around and couldn't find much on Mind/Earth domies, so I figured I'd ask what experience folks have with it, I like the idea of the combination for a concept character I am working on, so was looking to get some help with the character in question.
So I ask you, the dominator comunity, does the combo work, is there a decent levelling (common IO) build out there and what travel power would you advise for it?

Also Im curious if anyone has any experience with making a good perma-dom mind/earth and if they would mind sharing that build at all?

i'm not surprised that there is little on this combo. it just doesn't seem to mesh well. me having a mind/fire and mind/nrg plus an earth/earth... the two sets seem to play totally different in terms of play-style.

mind being a great ranged set with no AoE Immobilize doesn't seem ideal for earth's melee style of play.

i could be wrong, but that's how it looks w/o trying them together.

on the other hand... if you plan to solo a lot, this build has some promise to it. mind is a great soloing primary while earth hits very hard. it's definitely not a great farming combo, but all and all, it has great tools from both the primary and secondary. would be interesting to see how it works out.

Mind/Earth can be very strong. Earth has power boost and a really good hard hitting hold. Mind is generally considered a ranged set, but it can safely enter melee. Aoe Sleep means your single target (earths single target attacks are nasty) damage goes unhindered.

Once you get your AOE confuse, melee becomes so safe its criminal. With power boost they stay confused for a long time.

You may feel lacking in AOE carnage tho. Mind has 1 cone damage power which is terrible to line up in melee sometimes and its damage is just ok. The AOE sleep is pretty decent in melee tho, from my use on a my Mind/Elec. Tho I do find myself hovering back to do the Terrify+Elec Cone tango. The AOEs in earth are decent but nothing spectacular.

Your single target damage is sick. Its just you have to do it in close quaters. And even on a MIND dom that can be a scary proposition. A problem single target destroyer combos like Mind/Energy don't have.

Give it a go. I say experiment with the combo and see how you find it. Just don't play expecting to be an AOE carnage god

I actually rolled an earth/earth this double xp weekend. I loved earth assault. I figured I wanted another Dom with earth assault but one I would dare to solo for majority of the time. I am not a Mind newbie. I took a Mind controller solo from one to the end. I did team on occasions some AVs or mish types would not allow me to solo them. Mind/ is a very very safe toon to solo with some very solid controls. The dmg is solid with just the control set. I played a mind/kin. The kinetics parts was the part that pushed to find something who would solo safely since kinetics has no mitigation before transference or fulcrum.

I know Mind/ and I trust it. I paired earth assault with Mind. I played my Mind/earth this weekend. You are very safe in melee with Mind. Just keep a close eye on the nearby enemies you have sleeping or held. Keep killing them, after all, you have one of the best, if not the best single target dmg dealer assault set in the game for a Dom-- a chain with both mallets and then Seismic will make my Fire assault Dom cry. The approach is simple, just sleep or confuse them, kill one, then kill the other. You are done after that. Mind has good emergency powers as well. Sleep, confuse, another sleep, another confuse, mass hold, fear, then run if you need to. However play a Dom with finesse and remember your whole mitigation is in mez. My mind/earth is now lvl 25. I mostly solo'd him and I will continue to do it but on blue side. I know most of the archs I want to do already all the way to fifty.

Good luck.

Repeat Offenders forever !

Make all IO's available in Paragon Market! NCSoft, the chinese are making BIG money selling influence and other stuff in the game. Best way to stop them = make the paragon market a place to buy all IO's and perhaps other things as well.

This is my all around build, it is not heavy on the Earth Assault part but I love the way it plays and the main purpose of it was for the LRSF and other TF/Team related gaming. It is my favorite dom to play although I just finished a ice/fire dom that I havent tricked out yet.

Mind/Earth is a very good combo. My SG mate solo'ed the LRSF with it. Took 9ish hours (breaks included) and a shivan in the very end but he was determined and succeeded.
