I made a sh/elec specifically to be my first incarnate, he's 23 now hope I make it. I thought it would be great on teams because of the teamed defense bonuses plus obviously the 2 tp knockdown attacks but I don't see any threads on it is that a good or bad thing?

it's a good combination

Electric may lack slightly in single target damage, but that's not really your main focus as a Tanker anyway. The combination of the two sets pretty much can't be beat for AoE damage.

Shield Defense is an Excellent set for a Tanker. It is fairly straightforward to soft cap all positions using IOs and smart pool power choices. AAO is a great aura and your tier 9 really helps in the situations you'd want it to.

I think you'll enjoy it a lot.

Ive gotten my Shield/Electric tank to lvl 36 and so far he has been great fun to play.

Shield Charge is great power and I can't wait for Lightning Rod so I can alternate my TP attacks. The thing is it works great as an opener or as a power to use once you are in the mob and have gotten a nice damage boost with Against All Odds.

Solo I am currently running on +0 level with a team size of 3 without problem, I haven't tried pushing it higher. Although I did run a few missions at +2 with a team size of 1 after fogetting to reset my difficulty and I could manage those fine as well.

On teams he is a very solid tank dealing out some nice AoE damage and not taking many hits. As you say Phalanx Fighting grants is a great defence boost on teams.

Although I haven't started IOing the toon (apart from the Steadfast Protection +defence IO which is dirt cheap and easily slotted) but having played around with builds it isn't that much of a challange to softcap the positional defences.

The only downside I find with Shield Defence is the click Mez protection!

If your mouse has greater processing power than your gfx card, the answer is yes.

After I put in my so's I got invited to a team of 7 and the leader had the difficulty up fairly high but there were no healorz. I was doing the tanking thing and noone died but I was told to slow down so people could rest lol. I feel much better about this now and I am looking forward to the Incarnate tf's. Thanks for the replies.
