$faction

Maybe it is in there somewhere, but I can't find it. We have $name $level $archetype but not a $-command that tells what faction you are.

That would be because in Praetoria your faction is a secret. People that go around announcing they belong to the Resistance get taken away by the police. So everyone claims to be a Loyalist.

But all Prae's can do each others missions so call all of them "Praetorian."

Then you could easily do "Praetorian, Villian, Rogue, Hero, Vigiliante"

I would love to add it to my SG/channel keybinds so that everyone knows exactly what side I am playing.

Oh I understand, I was just illustrating that this could be one of those things they haven't done not because it's impossible but because it didn't fit their image of what GR was supposed to be.

It's also possible they felt it wasn't needed because there are no SG's in Praetoria at this time, and because Loyalists and Resistance members aren't restricted from teaming with each other. It also means that if players do form groups for RP reasons they won't automatically know if they have a traitor in their midsts.

Then there's also the possibility that it was simply something that fell thru the cracks and was overlooked because they had so many other things to get done in time for the launch of GR.

Figured that they may not have thought about it so I threw it in the "Suggestions and Ideas" thread.

Not a huge deal but would be a nice QoL addition.

Meh, there's sooo many $variables that would be useful to have in the game... so yeah, why not add that one to the list?

I'm always for more variables accessible in the game. I'd be interested in a logical check function, too, but that's besides the point. So yay for $faction. Now if only it didn't have to follow that ghastly Perl format...
