The simple answer is no, there is no way to change the Origin of an existing character.

Loth 50 Fire/Rad Controller [1392 Badges] [300 non-AE Souvenirs]
Ryver 50 Ele Blaster [1392 Badges]
Silandra 50 Peacebringer [1138 Badges] [No Redside Badges]

There are four things we cannot / will not be allowed to change on a character:
AT
Origin
Primary
Secondary.

Three of those make mechanical/balance sense. Origin, I suspect, is a holdover from the early, early (alpha) version of the game, where Origin actually tied into how (and how much) you could advance. I'm thinking it's so deeply buried in the foundation of the character definition that altering things to allow you to change it would break... well, more than we'd expect. (That's aside from suddenly being full of DOs/SOs of the "wrong" type, etc.)

For now, just type something up in your bio.

(I won't argue if we ever DO get to change it - I don't see myself doing so, really, but still. I just don't expect it'll become doable.)

Besides, origin is almost totally irrelevant to game play with the exception of a few temporary powers whose effects vary depending on origin. The origin powers by level 10 are basically useless*, and having to buy SOs and DOs from different stores doesn't really make much difference other than some are slightly more convenient to reach in some zones.

*Offhand Taser Dart for tech origin can be useful for lighting an Oil Slick if you don't have any other source of energy or fire damage, but that's about as useful as the origin powers are past 10 or so.

Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...

And remember something - your Origin is just the origin of your primary and secondary sets, especially the starting powers. It does not have to dictate your thinking about how the later powers need to be justified.

After all, if Batman can gain powers from Technology (especially in continuities where he resorts to powered armor and robot armies to fight crime when his body becomes too broken down for old-fashioned fisticuffs) or even immortality from the Science/Magic blend of the Lazarus Pit (''Superman & Batman: Generations''), YOUR Natural Martial Artist/Willpower Scrapper can start flying because he was bombarded so much by the Magical attacks of the Circle of Thorns (as an example).

Yeah I was also after this. I made a toon with a witchdoctor type theme but made him natural rather than magic. If I want the villains to drop the enchancements I want he has to fight in offices and warehouses. He just looks out of place.
