Behind the door blackness

Most mission doors, AE entrances, etc., when they open, it is a square of pure black behind them. I've always found it a little immersion breaking or like it was unfinished artwork.

Is it possible to get a little something less jarring put there? A 3d rendered hallway would look great, but I'd settle for something brown/grey and out of focus that gives a sense of depth or at least doesn't look out of place. Maybe put a plant there, coat rack, chick in a bathrobe, something. The black squares could be improved upon.

The problem is that doors are stuck on top of existing, pre-fab geometry. If it weren't for the "blackness," you'd see a brick wall with windows on it behind the door and run through that, anyway. In order for what you're suggesting to happen, each object that has a door slapped on it needs to be cut into, remodelled manually and have something fit inside of it. And only when that actually fits in the building in question, which is not the case with all doors.

What this means is a manual remodelling of all doors in the game, possibly one by one, which is not something I expect to see the developers do.

On the other hand, doors in and out of the Architect buildings SHOULD NOT HAVE blackness. Just let us run in and run out. Aren't those things two-sided anyway?

The scientists who designed the War Walls, the buildings that stay standing when knocked 30 degrees off of center with holes in them (Boomtown, I'm looking at you!) and the automobiles that run forever in a city without gas stations also designed a VERY common, but seldom mentioned gadget.
The Electro-Static Privacy Enabler. It creates a very small energy field that mutes voices so that pesky superheroes (and villains) cannot eavesdrop through the doors of a building. It has a very thin black sheen to it, which is why doorways look like that to you.

Apparently, it has the side effect of not working well with alarm systems, which must be why you can enter a Council or Crey base without being swarmed by guards at the very get-go.

That is why doorways are black in Paragon City.
