No you do not have to pay extra for the AE feature. It is part of the normal game, it has been in for quite a while now! No purchase required (excpet for the game).

The architect edition came out when the mission architect came out to help advertise the Mission Architect.

May seem dumb, but do you have to buy this to create missions? And did it come with any other purchases? I bought the Going Rouge complete digital, did it come with this?
