latest update from Windows...

whatever was in the recent Windows update, it screwed my screen resolutions over and ultimately reset them. Normally that isn't a problem, but for some reason...I can't adjust back to my resolution I had before. Checking out the game, my UI was all borked and my characters were back to looking stretched out...

already tried a system restore and that didn't do anything -_-

I was originally going on 1680x1050 for my monitor resolution, but now for whatever reason, I can't access that one anymore and it stops at 1600x1200

Why not just uninstall those updates? You don't list what OS you are using, but I know that in Windows 7 you can see exactly what updates were installed and when and can select and uninstall them from that screen. It's in the Programs and Features screen but you need to select View Installed Updates in the left side of the window. I "think" Vista has the same setting but don't feel like rebooting into Vista to check.

If you are using Windows XP you can select the Show Updates box on the top of the Add/Remove Programs window to show the installed updates. Not having an XP install handy I can't recall if it shows when it was installed or not but I don't believe it does.

If you aren't sure what was installed, you can also check out what was in the most recent Patch Tuesday offering. One site that lists the KB numbers of the updates is TechRepublic. You can view the September 2010 Patch Tuesday listing using this link.

I've had little to no luck with System Restore over the years in getting it to actually correct a problem.

I had something like this happen once where the high resolution I wanted and knew my hardware was capable of wasn't available. If you are familiar with them go into your ATI CCC or Nvidia controlpanel and look at your connected monitor properties. For some stupid reason the computer will read the max resolution the monitor can tolerate through the cable it's connected with, but occasionally is given a number too small. You can tell it to ignore the tag data and slide the screen resolution bar as high as you want .

Hopefully the update just reset/changed/broke that property and this will fix it.

I'll have to mess with that then, since the Catalyst Control Panel doesn't seem to rectify anything. Running Windows 7 32-bit btw. Been kinda frustrated...
