Friday Night Firefights

Over the past 5 months, the Freedom Fire/Rads group has been running weekly events. We've choked and cooked more enemies than you could shake a nuke at. And more, it's been FUN!

However, not everyone can make our primary event at the scheduled time (or at least not easily). After discussion with other regulars, it's been decided to offer another date for getting your Fire/Rad on in addition to the primary time/date.

Server: Freedom
Day: Friday (Would be pretty dumb to hold something called "Friday Night Firefights" on a Tuesday)
Start Time: 7:00 PM Eastern, 6:00 PM Central, 5:00 PM Mountain, 4:00 PM Pacific
Meeting Place: The Hill on Talos Island
Point of Contact: @Hyperstrike1 (Running as Vortex Core or Flamin' Trolla)
AT Requirements: Ideally, you should be a Fire/Rad. Controller On rare occasions we'll accept other powersets or ATs. But only by consent of the whole group.
Level Requirements: None for the free-form period. Activities for the structured half may impose their own level requirements.

Note: This DOES put the event before some people on the West Coast get off of (let alone, home from) work. Not to worry, the event runs until we run out of people who want to play. So if we run 3-4 hours, GREAT! I've got a 4-hour block dedicated to this time if necessary, and can plan for longer if called for.

Please note that while Mondays are primarily a TF-fest for us, I plan on Fridays being more free-form. The first half of the night will be missions-oriented. Either story arcs that our players wish to participate in, alignment missions, or AE if someone has an arc they want to run.

The second half, unless someone wants to do something else, will be used for more goal-oriented activities. This may be a taskforce, a trial, raids, or even runs into PVP areas for goodies (Warburg Nukes, Shivans, etc).

If you have any questions, shoot me an e-mail in-game or contact me via PM here.

I'm looking forward to "Cooking with Radiation" this coming Friday!

It looks like I will be missing tonights fire-rad goodness though

Hope there is a huge turnout! If any of you out there have not created a fire/radiation controller, you should give it a try this friday! It is a powerful power set and the group as a whole is very friendly and helpful!

Sign me up, I'm usually home by 5pm cst. I also dont have anything going on Fridays because most of the horde is busy with static teams.

Disko Inferno and Burnaholic have been on the hill, but don't see anyone else. Did we get something wrong or is it just a slow night?

Big King, sorry about that. I was VERY late getting out of work tonight. (Sometimes I think I need to smack my gabby customers in the mouth sometimes. After five "Okay. Have a nice night. Bye!" attempts, they're STILL yacking!)

We actually got if off the ground at 7:30 tonight. I tried to shoot you a couple PMs but you must have been in the middle of logging when I did so.

We ran a series of tip missions and an alignment mission. Levels were falling from the sky!

We then tried to do a monster hunt. Fail. Couldn't find a single GM out there. I think someone tipped them off that we were coming and they bailed on us!

So back to a few more missions and we called it a night. We'll try to do a bit better next Friday.

I'll have pictures up in the morning. Just doing a fast update and falling over. LONG day today.

No! Bad! BAAAAAD!

Remember, Tactics is also +Perception. This will apply to Fire Imps as well. They'll be wandering further away picking fights and drawing enemy mobs back to us.

Take Vengeance and toss a heal or defense into it instead. More situational, but more controllable.

Um....Hello? Fire! Not Rock. Rocks no go with Fire. Get the fire shield.

And, only because I don't know - can you use Vengeance with a fallen imp?

The reason for the rock armor over Fire shield is Defense vs Damage Resistance. Think of it as a charcoal briquette!

Sadly you can not use vengence on a fallen pet, I have always thought that you should be able to.

No. Defense > Resistance.

Resistance, they almost always hit you, but you take less damage. Defense, they miss you and you take no damage.

The reason some of us are going Stone is because someone has take point and grab the alpha-stike. Rock Armor helps survivability in those situations. I just wish it could be altered like the primary/secondary version so it didn't look like I was covered in poo.

Unfortunately no. If you could Venge and Fallout off them, we'd be EVIL (well, MORE evil).

Being one of the very first Original Stoners in the game I remember with Rock armor did make us look like Poo and it only got worse with Granite.

I can't believe where the time has gone, its Friday already so more Fri Nite Frads... I never got to respec my Frad, well mainly because of work and I dont really know how I want the build to go (but thats for another day).

I am going to train up to level 32-33 and see what happens.

See everyone tonight although I may be a little late

All-RIGHTY then!

A nice turnout tonight.

I got home pretty much EXACTLY on time and logged in to find a couple people waiting on me.

We filled the team up, mostly new faces again tonight, and headed off to do some work for a little gal, name of Maria Jenkins.

Now this was the first time I'd actually run the new MJ arc.

Suffice it to say we've found some Kryptonite for the Fire/Rad team (or at least one of mixed levels the way we were). Resistance. En entire room (INCLUDING A WARWALKER) cloaked with targeting drones out...

Unfun for just about any team. Nightstar herself? No freaking problem whatsoever. But those danged mobs...

Anyhoo.

Infernal? INCINERATED!

Chimera? CHAR-BROILED!

Bobcat? BAKED!

Neuron? NUKED!

I DO wanna ask what's up with Statesman though. The AI for the pet seems to indicate there's been a brain transplant from Fusionette (yeah, I know, impossible, but that's what it acts like).

All in all, a fairly productive night. Lots of lowbie leveling. And some of our regulars were hitting levels too.

We stopped just before the Battle Maiden mission.

Thanks to everyone who showed this evening. And thanks to the couple of people we picked up for riding along with us as we roasted, nuked, and bled all over everything in sight.

Can't speak for anyone else but Friday night was a blast... its really great to hear all the comments about how fast stuff dies when you have all the rads.

Hyerstrike was right we did run into a few problems but you know what? thats what makes it fun.

Anyway it was a lot of fun. Now if only states had not gotten in the way of that last screen shot I would have appeared in all the pics...lol

Will be there but may only be able to run for a little while due to RL issues.

I've been waiting, but doesn't look like anyone has shown up tonight.

We were on the hill until about quarter after that we picked up a few stray friends-we-just-met and proceeded through a few more AV smackdowns.

Battle Maiden? Bye Bye!
Black Swan? Beat down.
Malaise? Bah! Poor excuse for a controller!
Mother Mayhem? Mwahahahaha!
Diabolique? Done to a well charred crisp.
Infernal? Is he back already? Okay. COOK HIM AGAIN!

Was getting ready to head in against Dominatrix and Marauder when I got a call from work (where I'm posting from now).

As usual, levels fell from the sky like rain. And Vortex Core is now Level 50!

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the little people who helped make this happen!

Imp 1! Take a bow!
Imp 2! Take a bow!
Imp 3! HEY! Leave get out from underneath that Master Illusionist's dress!

NASTY!

On top of that, I'd like to thank all the people over the course of the last five months who've teamed with me to help get there. It's been a hellacious ride!

AGAIN! AGAIN! *BOUNCE*BOUNCE*BOUNCE*

@Templar Ted
The night starts at 7PM Eastern and we usually roll out of the meeting point 10-15 minutes after the hour.

If you get to The Hill and you see nobody there, drop a /t @Hyperstrike1. If I'm not on for some strange reason, you'll see that. If I am, as soon as we've gotten out of a combat situation I'll respond.

Okay guys. The Halloween event is upon us.

And a group of Fire/Rads are rather uniquely suited to this event.

*KNOCK*KNOCK*KNOCK*
Fire/Rad 1: Trick or Treat!
Witches/Wolves/Vampires/Ghosts: TRICK*COUGH*COUGH*COUGH*DEAD!*
Fire/Rad 2: Wow. THAT was underwhelming. Maybe we should up the diff?
Fire/Rad 3: Uh, we're already at +4.
Fire/Rad 4: Okay we've been at this 15 minutes and have everything already, let's go hunt GMs.
Eochai: *COUGH*COUGH*COUGH*DEAD!*
Eochai: *COUGH*COUGH*COUGH*DEAD!*
Fire/Rad 5: We have a Jack!
Jack: *COUGH*COUGH*COUGH*DEAD!*
Fire/Rad 6: I wish he'd wear underwear. There are some things man is not meant to know...
Fire/Rad 7: So how many merits have we racked up already?
Fire/Rad 8: I lost count after the 50th GM...

Anyone have any problems with a little ToT for temp costumes, costume salvage, and GM hunting?

One thing to remember though, this IS on Freedom. So the server is likely to be QUITE busy. If we do this, you probably want to log on early to avoid getting queued.
