Help/Critique on a Dual Pistols/Traps

I have currently building a Dual Pistols/Traps Praetorian to initially duo with a Dominator. I haven't seen any guides for Dual Pistols, and the guides for Traps didn't seem to be too comprehensive for what I was looking.

Right now, the proposed build is soft-capped to Ranged, Aoe, and Energy/Neg, with significant defense elsewhere. I'm not sure if this is the way to go, if I'm treating the powers appropriately, or if there are other. better, options to consider. Below is the potential build. Any criticisms are welcome, as well as any general wisdom about both sets. Thanks in advance.

I'd skip Timebomb it's very situational (when you get to that level try it out on Test server). I'd also take Mace Mastery for the scorpion shield - FFG + Scorpion Shield even w/ SOs and you should be in the thirties range to S/L. Traps is one the few sets that I would say Hasten is must have (IMO) to get out moar Mortar/PGT/Seeker

Is 'Pistols' (the T1 DP power) worth taking? I am starting a DP/Traps corruptor as well and I am sort of torn on whether or not to take it. On one hand, I think once I have a few powers under my belt I may not have time to even bother with it. On the other, it could do quite a bit of scourge damage with it's fast refresh.

Well, Empty Clips is a fairly mediocre cone attack, but Pistols isn't exactly fantastic either. I'd say it depends on how you plan to spend your early levels. Solo or in small teams, Pistols will let you use Scourge efficiently and be a lot gentler on your blue bar. In a large team, though, EC will be hitting all its targets, and a target-saturated AoE is pretty much always better than a ST blast - especially a Tier 1.

Later in the game, I wouldn't expect you'd notice the lack of either of them. Bullet Rain and Hail of Bullets are both much better AoEs than Empty Clips, and most of the single-target powers are better than Pistols. But levelling without one of them is going to be painful, so it's probably something you should cosider dropping in a respec.

Running a same concept toon. DP/Traps Corruptor thus far is awesome. Here is my potential build. I've went and softcapped S/L/Enrg/Neg/Rng/AoE, 218% regen, 144% (2.55/s) EndRec, +305% Rech, 38% ToHit and ACC respectively, + 80% Dam. With hover you can pretty much Trap and blast with impunity. There's plenty of proc work thrown about in there. From Caltrops to Web Ganerade and anywhere else. Without the FF proc proccing hasten recharges in about 156/secs. Which should help the slower recharging Trap powers even without hasten up. See how you like.

So far I've mostly been soloing(the lower zones seem to be pretty empty, at least on my server). Is Switch Ammo useful or a waster power slot? The bonuses seem to be kinda minor. Not much I can do about it now, but I'll get a respec eventually.
