Fire/Dark Vs Ice/Dark
Which would be more survivable? Ice/Dark, no question. Two single-target holds and the slow effect give Ice blast the clear lead.
That being said, they are both extremely strong, and either one would take you to 50 without outside help quite easily, so I wouldn't make this decision based solely on survival.
I would say, if you've narrowed your choices to just those two combinations, go for whichever one sounds more fun to you thematically, because you'll need to like what you're doing for 50 levels. :-)
Bye, everybody!

Ice/Dark is very safe solo, but I will warn you that it is very endurance hungry. Also, most people seem to skip Frost Breath in Ice Blast, and I think that is a mistake. Ice's strength is it's single target damage, but Ice Breath combined with Ice Storm makes the early levels a little nicer until you get Blizzard. Scourging Blizzard is also a thing to behold.

Both have a good "rain" attack to pair with Tar Patch. But yah Ice/ would be better for survivability.
On a side note, if you went with /kin, Rad/ is a good combo since a lot of the Rad/ moves are done up close, which you could take advantage of since /Kin's Transfusion and Transference are both work best for you at melee range.
Fire has more damage, Ice has more safety.
I'd recommend Ice/Dark if you're starting from absolute scratch. Fire/DM would kill faster, but Ice/DM will destroy stuff pretty fast too and be much safer soloing in the process.
The Melee Teaming Guide for Melee Mans
I am looking for a solo friendly pairing that will also work well on teams. I am new to corruptors so am looking for fun and survivability. I have considered /Kin but what I read on the forums is that they are powerful but tricky to play. Then I read that /Dark is a very survivable set. Have been seeing that Fire/Dark seems to be the top dog on the forums due to potential damage. However, looking around, I also saw that Ice/Dark seems to be getting praise for its damage potential. Fire/ is pure damage, while Ice/ provides some damage with mitigation. So am asking for advice on which would be more survivable leveling up from the start w/o any infusion of outside funds.
