Hmmm . . . then you probably need to change your forum settings.
Go to "User CP" on the top left of this page.
Then look at the left side of the page it opens up. There's a list of different settings and options.
Click "Edit Options" then look towards the bottom of the page. Third from the bottom is Message Editor Interface. Set that to "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing."
Then come back and try the "Go Advanced" editing described above.

To color part of your post (without learning code) just edit your post and choose "advanced" on the little tab at the bottom. Between "Fonts," "Sizes," and the little smiley face that opens the emoticon options is a capital letter "A" with a black line under it.
Click on the little arrow next to the "A" and choose your color. Then highlight the text you want to color.
