not getting badges for giannt monsters

i've have tried to get knight errant badge twice but it just gives me 2 merits,i'm doing it with a villial who is now a hero.is it not giving this badge to villains who are heroes now?

You have to stop Paladin from being assembled. That gives you the badge. If you only defeat an existing Paladin, then you simply get merits.
So, make certain your logged in to your servers badge collecting channel, and have your hero happenings channel up and running. Then when there is some "strange clockwork activity in Kings Row", get there and stop that spawning. I took the message from memory, but if it mentions King's Row... then a Paladin is about to be constructed, so stop it.

Right. The alert message is about "unusual Clockwork activity in Kings Row". There are 3 possible spots where the Clocks might be assembling the Paladin. Stop them (by attacking the partial construct) and keep them from completing it for like 10 minutes and you get the badge.
