Not wishing to rain on any parades but I have to be honest and say the server status hitting 2 dots regularly worries me a little.
Our lovely game when all is said and done (in particular EU side) is not the busiest MMO out there, and yet the server capacity is such that we are hitting mid and even heavy loads some evenings (yellow and even red dots on union).
Now for all you people taking a sharp draw on your breath and preparing to rip me to shreds, I am not saying I am unhappy that the servers are busy, I am very happy they are, what concerns me is that it takes not huge numbers to fill them up.
Last night I gave up trying to play, I was running around new zones and rubber banding so much it was no fun at all. Load times are off the scale, you can almost mash a cuppa going into a mission. Broadcast was full of people having problems with lag/rubberbanding etc.
Loving the new zones and the new issue, disliking the fact it seems to be tipping our servers over and wondering why.
Vigilance has had 2 dots every night since GR was released.
There are two things we could take from this, make your own mind up as to which is true:
1) The European servers, which were upgraded at some point in 2007, IIRC, cannot handle a moderate load, and as such a relatively small increase in player numbers since GR was released is causing the servers to go Yellow.
2) There are more people interested in playing on the European servers than some of the doomsayers have been suggesting, and the servers are straining to cope with the player numbers.
Information to note: Union has red-lined several times, and the queuing system has kicked in.
Edit: Please, please, please, please, PLEASE can everyone who sees someone moaning on broadcast about lag and rubberbanding tell them to send a /bug. The technical support teams can't know about YOUR problems unless YOU tell them. They don't know what your ping is. They don't know that you're rubberbanding. They don't know there are problems unless they get TOLD, and the way to tell them is /bug and /petition (/petition should only be used if a GM is required to take action - rubberbanding and lag cannot be fixed by GM actions).
From NCSoft's end, all they see are the servers chugging away with large number of players. They do not have your ping data. Netgraph is client-based, because it detects your ping, it doesn't send that information to the server.
If they get enough reports that show that the servers can't handle the load, then the decision might be made to upgrade or update the servers so that they can handle the load. But they can't even propose that if they don't know there's a problem.

It was actualy just a funny post, not really serious ideas intended.
I already stated my questions about the 2 dots, compared to the 'big boys on the US' side, in numbers it just couldnt add up. So indeed the worrying part is the possible load the servers might be able to handle, although i keep looking slightly at the bright side (even though that is pretty hard, as Paragon/Rogue's remain kinda quiet).
And even so, towards the future, i dont believe they will do anything. They never replied to all the GR questions, the 'future' of the EU side, the possible merges or transfers, in short.. Europe still kept in the dark. My bets go out for a 'just wait and see', in a few months the 'newishness' of GR has faded and numbers may shrink again to normal standards.

So today i was hopping around in Nerva something, already saw a warshade a 2 controllers running by. Anyway, i logged out for another character, then i noticed the server status.
(gogo germans!).
(paragon/rogue's still feel very empty).
Defiant and Union both 2 dots.. but then i saw it.
Vigilance had 2 dots!! I mean.. VIGILANCE HAD 2 DOTS!
So i was kinda happy, so they have alot of people there too
Now just to way for all those people to come from GR back to Paragon/Rogues, so we can team up again
