DS/Summon Demons damage enhancement cap

I noticed when I started adding more powerful IOs to my Summon Demons power that the diminishing returns of "enhancement diversication" was kicking in much earlier than I expected, with the "cap" looking to be set at 60% rather than the usual 100%. I also noticed that although I hadn't added any resist enhancements to the power, the enhancement management screen showed me having enhanced resist... to the same amount as the damage.

I recall there being a bug that resist and damage enhancements are basically treated the same by the game, and I suspect that in this case, that's limiting the amount that you can enhance the damage on Summon Demons based on the ED limits for enhancing resist. Does anyone know if this is a bug or a deliberate choice by the devs? Did it come up during beta?

Damage Enhancements are a "Schedule A" enhancement. The first cap occurs at 70%.

I'm pretty sure this is a known bug. Look for it to be corrected soon-ish.

What I mean is that I had enough damage enhancements to get around 90% and instead I have closer to 55%, as though the enhancement bonus's diminishing returns are being enforced according to the schedule for resist instead of damage.

Could be, my DS isn't high enough level to notice. You might want to /bug that, just in case.

It's a display bug, and not an actual bug to the amount of buff. Since there is damage resistance and damage both in the power, it treats the display of the damage portion as Schedule B. This was reported and tested during the Demon Summoning beta. With your level of enhancement, you should experience ~90% damage enhancement in the actual damage numbers.

I've noticed this when I played Demon and this only applies to Lieut pets.

Somebody told it's intended as Demon is doing too much damage, which I don't mind.

I've done a small test and I think Lieut's damage is capped at 60%. Both Minion and Boss can be enhanced up to 95% soft cap just like every other pet.


What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Thanks, Psylenz! Glad that it's a known thing and not doing what it looked like.

Are my damage enhancements still enhancing the resist damage powers of the Ember Demon? That'd be sort of convenient, yet silly.

I noticed this bug the other day, and it works identically in my case as in yours. Interestingly accuracy stacking seems to be notated correctly.

Bugged in game and PM'd to Castle, who said he's forwarding it to QA.

I certainly hope that the above poster is correct and that it is only a display bug rather than an actual enhancement - would totally stink otherwise as the Lieuts do a large percentage of the pet damage.
