CoX follows the true spirit of MMORPG play

Let me briefly say that, I have been having a blast thus far, and I don't think I can be bored of this game. I think the biggest reason why is there is always a different approach to the game. Not just power combinations, and costumes, but also travel powers. And leveling now can be done through tips, paper missions, task forces, outdoors, arcs, mission architect...simply so many options that it baffles me why some say the game is too repetitive. To be honest what makes an MMORPG good is the ability to make your own content, and CoX provides the playground to do so. There is always something to do in CoX which is something many MMORPGs can't say. And all the fun you can participate in this game isn't necessary (eg market, IO's, crafting, etc).

Three cheers for CoX!

That is but one cheer my child. Dare you invoke the other two cheers?

Invoke them, I dare you.

Aside from that, I agree and appreciate your post. City of Heroes' open-ended nature, especially in Praetoria, is magnificent.

Yep. That's one reason I keep coming back after taking time off (due to burn-out ) is how "original" it is. I like how the only thing it has in common with WoW is that it's an MMO. It almost seems like everyone else is either dumbing their game down, or creating it in a way that's very similar to Warcraft.

The lore, and story arcs (for the most part) are the best I've seen in any MMO I've played. It's very RP friendly. With past MMOs I've had to try to invest myself in the character, and come up with a backstory that sets me apart from everyone else. It's never worked as well as it has here.

For example, my character for the most part has been "cape-less", and used rocket boots to get around (since he's not supposed to have powers). I just finished the Doppelganger arcs and WOW! It was not only an awesome arc, but with the way it ended it opened up a great story reason for a costume change.

As I stated before, I may take a break from time to time because of burn-out, but I always come back. This is, hands down, the best MMO out there IMO.
