Fusion Reacta Art

Hey All,
I've been playing CoH for a long time, but always been lurking in the shadows, never really used the official forums or anything like that. So this me making an effort to change that

I've had a couple pieces done of my 2 mains over the last year with a few more on the way, So I'd like to share some with you ^_^

Any suggestions for good forum areas to keep an eye on?

I love that piece o' art you posted of one of your mains! What is her name and who is the artist?

The only suggestion I can make is to make sure you list who the artists are that do the art for your collection pieces.

And yeah, I forgot to mention that that piece totally rocks! I jumped right to your DA page to check to see who did it...

My main advice is to jump right in... We don't bite (much) unless we get permission first

The only place you may need to step a bit carefully is criticising/offering advice about arts, made by people here or bought and shown off here... Some people are ok with it, or even welcome it... Other would much rather you kept anything critical to yourself unless specifically asked. My suggestion would be to get a feel for the thread before doing any of that... But everything else is pretty much fair game and open to all

And since you're obviously an art appreciator, another bit of advice would be to have character references handy... On occasion one or another of our fabulous artists may ask for volunteers to be drawn, sketched, whatever so it's handy to have quick ready references since it'll sometimes be first come first served sort of thing... Also doesn't hurt to have a link in your sig to such in case they're bored and just get click happy and nspired :P But also, don't expect anything... I'm no artist but I know that kind of attitude wouldn't be likely to inspire me

But all in all, have fun... and don't take anyone too seriously. Most people take everything here as if in jest and it's probably the safest and best way to do it. Little wars do spring up time to time but you ignore them long enough and they peter out...

Great! I use Virtue as my spillover server so that works well stuck at work at the moment >.< but i'll check it out when i get home!

Lol, I'm not worried about being bitten, I'm told I don't taste very nice anyway >_> and I totally understand about the critique... I've only got 1 digital piece of 100% my own work (CoH related anyway :P ) on DA myself so I'm not about to rip into others hard work, a touch hypocritical!

I've updated my Signature with links to my reference galleries good tip! In general I have a fun outlook on life, usually got something to smile about so looking forward to some banter

Caemgen is one of our more "colorful" artsy FArtsy collectors. You have to keep an eye on him so he doesn't stray into the open forums and wreak havoc! tehe

Caemgen hit on a lot of the good points already and having links in the sig is always good... never know when one of the local artists will have a contest or get inspired.

The main global channel is indeed Forum 606 and when the forum plays as a group it's Virtue server (or has been test on occasion as well) there is a SG both blueside (Hero Studio... the one that matters ) and redside (Gallery of Rogues... so I hear ) as well and VexXxa runs a costume themed TaskForce most Fridays... see the thread called "In the Mood" for more info on those. Hopefully someone will start a middle-of-the-week one as well.

One other bit of news the Multi-media gallery will soon be merged with the 606 soon (along with a few other changes... there is an official thread about it) so this will be the place to watch for cool fan made stuffz in general. I personally watch the 606 here the majority of the time but occasionally check out the Developers corner and sometimes the tech section.

Also we are in the midst of a year long art contest called the FArt (no that's not a typo ) or Fan Art Battle and anyone with a valid account gets to vote for their top three pieces (3 points, 2 points and 1 point respectively) each month... artist with the most points gets immunity and artist with the least is out. We are down to the final 5 heading into August's theme of "Yes but do you have that in Fuschia" a.k.a. when Icon interns go awry.<-- link

Finally that's a really nice piece ya got there, I picked out Nei Ruffino's colors right away and Windriderx23 has his customary "shiny spot" indicator lines (like on the boots/shoulders etc) so it was pretty easy to tell who the artists were but yeah as VexXxa says it's always nice to give them credit somewhere in the post (and a link to their respective galleries is nice too).
