The long-delayed Broadway show "Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark" announced today that previews will start November 14th and it will open on December 21st at the Foxwoods Theatre, which used to be the Hilton.
Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge, "Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark" stars Reeve Carney as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane Watson and Patrick Page as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin.
Did you just hear that? That was the death rattle of the Spider-Man franchise finally just giving up and laying down to accept it's demise. Between this and the 'reboot' movie coming out... I have to make peace with the fact that these properties have shed all vestiges of their dignity in the pursuit of squeezing every last dime they can out of the character
