SS goes pretty well with anything. You'll just have to watch end until you can buff you your recovery. DA drinks deep into the blue bar.

Just get cloak of fear with 3 fear IOs and 3 acc IOs. He'll be something to fear. =P
What kind of budget you want and what will he be using the brute for mostly? ( solo, team, farming, tanking, AV-soloing, PvP, etc)

Give this a shot. It's not perfect but it gives a combination of +Recharge and +Melee Defense and +Range Defense to give you a combination of tankiness and spam-foot stomp..ness.
Only 1 purple set was used and that was in Knockout Blow. It can be replaced with a 'Touch of Death' or a 'Mako's Bite' if you either don't want to build around purples or just want more range or melee defense.
I'm sure others will give you more dedicated builds around recharge or melee defense but this is for a little of both.

well, first off, you need to know what you are aiming for.
Are you looking for maximum carnage or uber tankiness?
anywho, this is the direction I would go with it, and have been thinking of making one of these myself.
softcapped s/l, which has ya covered in most situations, tons of mitigation on top of it.

Dark Armor is like that kid you knew in school that didn't know when to shut up, and no matter how bad he got beaten down, he got right back up again and kept on talking.
Deth's build looks pretty solid. I'm unsure if I could improve on it, so I'll just say you should go with that one.

Alright, so here's the challenge I post to you the forum people of win.
A friend of mine has an SS/DA brute, made for concept, not what works. But I'm wondering, can anyone here post a build to make this little guy into something to fear?
I promised to help him get a good build, but I totally suck at mids, and he's never even opened the dang program. XD
So, anybody who could make, or post a build that they KNOW works, I'd greatly appreciate it! =3
