where do players meet to team up on freedom? also chat channels

So my first hero hit level 5, The npc said it might be wise to team up at some point soon.

I know some people like to solo everything, I myself, do not play an mmorpg to solo. I play mmorpg's to socialize with the gaming community.
So at this point, Where do heroes and villains go to find people to team up with on this freedom server?
If they only use chat channels, what chat channels do heroes and villains use to team up and or socialize in? public channels that is.

If that's the case how do i make new channel tabs and get into different channels?

also Ive tried to speak in game but it only sent in local, so yeah i am a newbie so i might need a few tips on chat channels, I also don't know how to get into the global freedom chat channel so help with that would also be appreciated.

Well you are in the right place to start looking. You will find a number of post here that schedule TF and SF or Flash Backs every week. Also join some of the public channels that focus on teaming. "Freedom TF Chat", "Freedom TF" are two but there are many more that I'm not familar with. And welcome to the game.

2 others are RF2009 and freedom elite.

Also you might consider joining the N P C channel which is part of the mentor program (see link in my sig).
It's a place to ask questions in game and also get help. type /chan_join "N P C" (note there is a space between each letter)

Now does the "N P C" channel have open discussion? Not sure if i would try to get a mentor cause my gaming times can be sporadic depending on whats going on. and sometimes i play late nights.

Most of the activity in channel is just random questions about game play that arise. Also there are people on at all times it seems, so there should be someone to answer any questions you might have, even at odd hours.

You don't have to have a specific mentor it's more of an open thing though you can ask for one. Myself, Sixy and Turganov are all freedom players in the channel.

This covers your basic questions, but PG's point about the "N P C" channel is also perfectly valid, and more targeted towards new players in general.

One thing you mentioned, though: Are you a trial player, or have you actively subscribed? If you're a trial, your chat options are severely curtailed until full subscription, and your level caps out at 13.

I should have mentioned that. I bought the architect edition,got it for $10 to see if i could enjoy the game. Found out i greatly enjoy it. Prepurchased the going rogue. yes i have 1 month paid for so far. so i won't have any chat restrictions.

I plan on buying the mutant booster and the booster that includes the going rogue content that i missed because i did not get the complete edition.

Definitely join N P C. As of late I have only been able to log on late at night and there is still a bunch of mentors on even then.

just to reiterate, N P C is a great channel to join as a new player with questions. It doesnt matter how sporadic your play time is (i'm a mentor and have some of the most sporadic playtime in the history of freedom). someone is pretty much always around to answer questions and if you need help with something, you can hit me up in-game @sixy

i also have a global channel with some friends that are based out of freedom that are usually around to answer questions and there is almost always a team or two running, however, some of them are....a little "rough around the edges". feel free to /chan_join "miscellaneous"
