Good Synergy powersets for a Brute/ Corr duo

A friend and I are looking to build a good duoing Brute/Corr team. Are there some powersets that lend themselves better for this than others. Im not sure about the brute at this point but am leaning towards a fire/dark corr or possibly fire/cold for a mix of buffs/holds/dmg/controls/heals etc. not both sets have all of these of course. Thanks for the input

Well the best corrupter set for teaming with brutes is Kinetics. Speed Boost is pretty much the best buff a brute can get.

If you don't want to make a corrupter with Kinetics, then idealy the brute should be end efficient. Electric and Willpower are the two most end efficient(other then energy aura) powersets for brutes. For brute primary, ensure the brute has AoE attacks to hold aggro, as well as speed things up. Electric melee is pretty fantastic here, since it gets it's AoE early. Other sets like SS, Stone, and well, pretty much everything else work well to, just make sure you pair it with a secondary that gets a taunt Aura fairly early on, otherwise he will have difficulty holding aggro.

For non-Kinetics corrupters, Pain, Thermal, Sonic, and Cold work very well. The debuff sets, like Dark and Rad can work well to. They don't help out the brute as much, but they help the corrupter more.

Primary for the Corrupter should be an AoE set that doesn't cause tons of knockback. Fire, Radiation, Dual Pistols all work very well here.

A willpower brute and a son/cold corr will do well together. The +hp and +def from cold will make the brute nigh unkillable. Just be sure to have the brute be AoE focused so he doesn't lose aggro, and the corr can get just about any primary you want. Howl as an opener from the corr will also turn the brute into an even more efficient killing machine since AoE -res and an AoE centric brute is a recipe for massive amounts of goodness.

I haven't worked out all the details, but I've been thinking about this on my own.

Mace/Invul brute.

Dark/Rad corruptor.

All the goodness of Mace/Invul with all the benefits of a Dark/ offense, plus /Rad to cut your enemies down to size. What would be not to like?

My personal opinion on teaming brutes is that they should take Taunt. Two taunts are better than one, and the ranged Taunt is really too good to pass up. If you really must, make one solo build that skips it, but I personally don't see this as a priority. Skip your travel power and make do with jet packs if you must skip something.

Both kin and rad cor can do very well in means of buff/debuff and synergy with a brute.
I would recommend /stone if your friend is willing to roll a kin with SB.

I would disagree with /Stone. It is complete overkill. /Stone is good if you plan on being a tank for 8 man teams fighting +4's or something. Not for a duo. Duo, I would go with something that is moderately tough, and has good damage output.

Probably overkill. But like you said, /stone covers mostly everything defensive wise. As far as good damage output from a defensive set, I don't find any secondaries to be overwhelming in that department besides shields with Shield Charge. Secondaries in my opinion are all personal preference. Shifts towards what sort of utility you prefer over others and if you prefer defense to resist or a medium balance between the 2. Good synergy between a cor and a brute isn't hard to find, since one buff/heals and other can hold mob agro and dps. I find /stone and a kin to be one of the best combos out there due to them being top notch in defense and buffs.
